Just not my type of music. Too poppy and I just don't like their music at
all!! Although that's just my opinion and I know plenty of folk who really
like them!!

Because their songs (in particular Andrea's voice) are extremely irritating,
and also Andrea's constant posing makes me feel nauseous.

Personally I find their music to be very bland and lifeless, and
boring....funny actually, just yesterday at work 2 of us were there commenting
on this exact topic....

~~~~ I love them, I think they have beautiful voices and I love the way they
incorporate Irish Tin whistles and fiddles into their music! It is haunting
and *nice* to hear.
Y'know Aims that's exactly what makes them bland and unlikeable to me!!
Whuh? Do you also consider Eliza Carthy bland & unlikable? What about the
Waterboys? The Bedlam Rovers? The Men They Couldn't Hang? The Oyster Band?
And, for God's sake, what about THE POGUES?
No, the problem with the Corrs isn't the tin whistles & fiddles, it's that
the underlying material is shallow, superficial, pandering *CRAP*. That trad
Celtic instrumentation is, in fact, their sole saving grace: take it away,
and they're indistinguishable from Steps & the Spice Girls.
{Ellis, to answer your question: I have nothing against the Corrs
personally; I just wish they'd find a new line of work. Is that so wrong?}
Sorry don't know enough about them to comment!!
What about the Waterboys?
Yeah but they were actually good at it and were never a pop band!! In fact
they're still going!!
The Bedlam Rovers?
Never heard of them either I'm afraid!!
The Men They Couldn't Hang?
Heard of them but can't recall any of their tunes!!
The Oyster Band?
Again I don't know of them!! Need to check out Napster I reckon!!
> And, for God's sake, what about THE POGUES?
OMG!! The ultimate pissed out yer head party band!! I heard an interview
with Shane McGowan and was shocked to hear he was a cockney!! Many a drunken
night have I went mad to The Pogues 'Fiesta'
Yeah you're right I find their music pretty shallow and uninteresting. My
mate says they make good driving tunes or 'Go faster tunes' but I can't see
it myself!!
lol!! You definitel won't change mine!! As long as you enjoy the music
that's the main thing. Don't worry about the folk who don't like them like
me!!
I think that is an excellent choice of words. "Nice" describes their music
perfectly, for better and for worse.
As for me, I'm not a big fan. But they do what they do pretty well, and I
could never bring myself to dislike those three lasses. If I ever get sick
of the music, there's always the mute button.
1) Because they got famous off the back of Titanic with that Irish folky sound and the pathetic tin whistle, combined with over-generous airplay from a smug (now deceased) Irishman called Terry Wogan
2) They made the most of their looks for their image and some folk bought it
