I like to think that in his last years Travis got together with
Cathy Kerr, my favorite of all his women and the most enduring,
and moved the Flush to Candle Key again, this time for good.

He'd saved up enough money so that he'd never have to work again.
Meyer would come and visit, of course, and he and Cathy's sister
Christine fell in love and he moved his boat down there too.
They spent their time fishing and gardening and drinking and
eating good food and telling stories and philosphizing and
their kids would visit often, bringing lovers and mates and
grandchildren.
