It now appears, contrary to initial assumptions made by the media, that
Tonya will not actually be playing hockey at all, but rather engaging in
a celebrity boxing match during the half-time interval. It appears that
this is what the Indianapolis Ice team meant about spectators being
"guaranteed to see a fight" that night.
In fact it seems that there was never any plan for Tonya to play hockey
at all. According to The Oregonian, Tonya's manager Paul Brown is quoted
as saying on Tuesday that "we agreed that she will appear back there in
Indianapolis, be honorary captain and do charity work,". He describes
reports that Tonya will play hockey as "absolutely insane...
hysterical,". One has to wonder if the confusion wasn't generated
deliberately as a publicity stunt. If so, it's worked spectacularly
well, given the amount of press coverage it has got.
In addition, Tonya will be doing a live Internet chat session for the
indychannel.com at 11:15 a.m. local time on Friday. More details,
including a video of a local news report about Tonya's visit, can be

Finally, we are pleased to report that the lawsuit that prevented
Tonya's B of A center fight in Boise from going ahead in January has
been dismissed. This would appear to pave the way for Tonya to resume
her boxing career without further interruption.
