Stuck w/o books in a cultural wasteland and I really need to know the names of the
Ents. (well, if any of them had names....I don't remember)
Well, Fangorn, of course, which is "Treebeard" in Sindarin. He mentions
Fingas (Finglas? not sure of spelling) and Fladrif to Merry and Pippin,
which mean respectively "Leaflock" and "Skinbark." Fangorn mentions an
Entwife named Fimbrethil ("Wandlimb"). And I believe the young Ent that
befriends Merry and Pippin is named Quickbeam, though I forget the Sindarin
equivalent.

Treebeard is the only one I can remember off the top of my head.
Related, would Old Man Willow qualify as an "evil-hearted" hjorn(sp?).

Well, Ents have *names*, but they don't use them hastily. We never
find out what any of the Ents's *names* are. But we find out what some
of them are *called*...
The main ent was called "Treebeard" in (Westron-translated-into-)
English, and "Fangorn" in Sindarin.
He mentions other Ents called (in Sindarin, I believe) Finglas,
Fladrif, and Bregalas ("Quickbeam"); and an Entwife called Fibmrethil
("Wandlimb"). In "Flotsam and Jetsam", Pippin mentions an Ent called
"Beechbone".
