Has anyone read the collection of short stories in honor of JRRT, entitled
"After The King"? It includes stories by Stephen R. Donaldson, Andre Norton,
Charles de Lint and others. I'd be interested in your comments.

I have just started it - I recently got two of Jordan's books and they
are taking some time to read but I have read Donaldson's short story.

Amazing. I love when fantasy is different from Dragonlance or Eddings
and this one definetly is. Hope you enjoyed it to.

Where can I find this book? Are the stories in here based on LOTR or just
set in Middle Earth? And who's the publisher?

Look in the library. It is a collection of Short Stories in honor
of Tolkien; that is, they are "Middle Earth-ish".

The books are not set in Middle-Earth, and most have nothing to do with
anything in Middle-Earth (there are cameo appearances in one of the short
stories, The Halfling House).

I would have to disagree. While some of the writing style is vaguely
Tolkienesque, for the most part those authors just worte what they
wanted to write. The title of the book is very deceptive, and, all
around, I was very disappointed in the book. Not that the stories
were bad (I *loved* The Halfling House), but to say that they were
based around Tolkien or Middle-Earth is just not true.
