Only Khamûl is named, as the second of the nazguls. ICE have made
characters and names for the others, but Tolkien never mentioned their
names.

Here is the *correct* list of the names of the Nazguls. And it is arranged
in their order:

1. The Witch-King - Nazgûl Lord (Er-Mûrazor ("Black Prince"))
2. Khamûl The Easterling
3. Dwar of Waw
4. Indûr Dawndeath
5. Akhôrahil
6. Hoarmûrath of Dír
7. Adûnaphel The Quiet
8. Ren The Unclean
9. Ûvatha The Horseman

These are their real names, as far as I have got information. Some of the
names are names given to them after they started to serve Sauron, as The
Witch King, and some are their real names before they started to Serve
Sauron. It is only the Witch King`s name I`ve managed to dig up, and he is a
Prince of the Númenors, or actually, the Black Númenors.

There is NO correct list of names for the Nazgul. Only Khamul was ever
named by Tolkien, and some people argue that was merely a nickname of
sorts.

For what is worth here is the list of names ICE made up:

1. The Witch King of Angmar
2. Khaműl The Easterling
3. Dwar of Waw
4. Indűr Dawndeath
5. Akhôrahil
6. Hoarműrath of Dír
7. Adűnaphel The Quiet
8. Ren The Unclean
9. Űvatha The Horseman

Quite amusing actually, especially Ren the Unclean.... He's actually Ren from 'Ren &
Stimpy' only he never took a bath in his life, and he smells and all....:^)

I don't remember commenting on this before, but it appears that ICE decided
Gothmog the lieutenant of Morgul was not a Nazgul.

If you're referring to Khamul, there is still a card with him being a Nazgűl,
so I dunno about that... I never played the game myself...a friend of mine is
wild about it....and I thought it would be cool to use the information (ICE
made up stories for each character on how they became a Ringwraith) about it on
my site (http://homepages.svc.fcj.hvu.nl/97_084 , a little promotion never
crashed a web site...:-))... so that's how I know those names....

In "The Battle of the Pelennor Fields", Gothmog takes over the attack on
Gondor after the defeat of the Witch-king. Many people have wondered
through the years who this Gothmog was, and what.

ICE refers to Khaműl as second in command, until the Witch King came. After that he
was appointed (again according to ICE) the commander of Minas Morgul, so it's
possible that Khaműl and Ghotmog are one and the same. But then again there is a
Gothmog in Sil. a Balrog of some sort IIRC....

Well I know the two first are right.
The Witch King`s original name was Er-Műrazor (Black Prince) and was a
direct discendant of [two Númenorian lords who setteled in Harad] and Khaműl
is mentioned too. Although if he was a Easterling or what, I don`t know.
Both names are from the Letters of Tolkien, can`t remember wich one.

I didn`t know that the rest was "created" by ICE, and therefor I apologize
for this.

The earlier Gothmog died in Gondolin, slain by Echthelion.

Tolkien himself wrote that Khamul was the second of the Nazgul, but Khamul
was also assigned to Dol Guldur at one point. The identification of Khamul
with Gothmog the lieutenant of Morgul cannot really be assessed. ICE's
guess is just one more among many.

The only name J.R.R. Tolkien ever supplied was Khamul's. Er-Murazor is
strictly an ICE convention.

I know that in the game I'm playing, much of the information, including the
names for the Nazgul, is taken from the I.C.E. information, and they most
definitely represent Gothmog as a NON-Nazgul.

Their specific names are not revealed, but Eowyn refered to the Lord of the
Nazgul as "The Dwimmerlaik" and was the Witch-king of Angmar. It is
speculated that the 2d most mighty of the Nazgul was named "Gothmog" and
was the lieutenant of Minas Morgul.

I thought that the (second, lieutenant of Morgul, etc.) Gothmog was a very
cunning and capable Black Troll? The first Gothmog is a Balrog and he served
Melkor during the fist age. He was slain by Ecthelion of the Fountain during
the assault on Gondolin, and etc etc etc.........

I haven't read the books in ages, but, did it say Gothmog was second in
command of the army that was attacking M. T. or that he was second in
command period? Cause, as far as I know, Khamaul is the second Nazgul,
Withc King first, et, etc... By this, I think it doesn't mean he is
second in command of all, maybe just the Nazgul. Dunno, just my 2
cents.

He is simply called "Gothmog the lieutenant of Morgul". He is mentioned
only once.
