|That is a queston i have always wondered about, how were they treated

In the letters of J.R.R.Tolkien (edited by Carpenter) you will find a
reference where Tolkien states that even in the Undying lands, Frodo and
Bilbo were not immortal, although their lives were prolonged. I assume
the same goes for Gimli. The undying was not so much a property of the
lands, as of those who dwelt there. At some point, the hobbits would
have died and gone the way aother hobbit sould would also have gone. I
suppose taking the hobbits to those lands was not so much to grant the
long life, but to relieve them of the torments from which they would
have suffered as after-effects of the Ring, encounters with the Nazgul
etc.

What about Bilbo? When he left he didn't seem to have long, and his
wits and health were no longer sustained by the Ring's effects -- how
would it have gone with him in Valinor? Because of his relative good
health would he have had a few more years left of prolonged life, or
would he have died shortly after arriving? Could the Valar/Maiar and
their land have had some effect on this?
