I'm 99% sure that I read somewhere, in either the LOOTER, Sil, or UT that
Lugburz was the Orcs' name for Mordor.

I was under the impression that it was Sauron's tower. I was gonna say
"Sauron's dark tower" but that just reminded me of annoying sound effects,
brigands, and a particular cheesy celebrity appearance in a board game
commercial.

Lugbúrz is Black Speech meaning "Tower-black". According to LotR, it was the
Orkish name for the Barad-dûr.

I remember brigands, but the commercial escapes me. Who was the celebrity?

"Last night I ventured into the Dark Tower." That was the commercial tagline
for the board game of the same name. The actor was either the guy who played
Ironsides or Orson Welles. I always confused them as a child. I want to say
that it was definitely Orson but the idea of the great actor/director
hawking a board game seems unbelievable.

It was Orson Welles and Dark Tower has nothing to do with Tolkien.
Everyone is searching the land for the keys needed to enter the Dark
Tower, kill the Dragon, and free the land from it's oppression.

The game has quite a following and working copies go for hundreds of
dollars on ebay. I've got a copy and it's fun a couple of times
through, the cheesy sounds and illuminated pictures take you strait
back to 1980. The artwork, I can't recall his name at the moment, is
also very nice with a lot of flavor. It's really interesting to look
back on the cutting edge from that time.
