If so, I wanted to let you know that her new website issue is online, and it
has hundreds of new pics of her in concert and hanging out, new songs, her
live show schedule, news about her interviews, desktop wallpaper and screen
savers, and a bunch of other stuff.
Check it out at http://www.coriyarckin.com/

Hi Mike,
Where are you from (country/region)?
Cori Yarckin has been in Teen People magazine, Seventeen magazine, been part
of the Seventeen magazine concert series, had a feature part in a Truth
commercial that aired in the US on TV and in theatres, has been co-star of
TV show that is being played internationally now, was on several episodes of
the first season of the Making of the Band which is aired in many countries
now, has been having her songs played on a number of top 40 radio stations
and have been listed in their top 20 most played songs and top 5 most
requested songs (and even got the top 1 slots on Top 5 at 9 radio shows)...
and that is just the short list on her. She also has a pretty core group of
fans on her web site's message board that are from many countries (US,
UK/Europe, Australia) and still growing.
The reason I ask where you are located is because I am trying to figure out
how you could not have heard of her.
Go over to her website at http://www.coriyarckin.com/ and take a look at
what she is all about and give a listen to some of her new songs.
Have a good evening,
Al
Oh! Ok, I thought when you asked "who?" she was in a pervious post that you
actually wanted to know who she was. So who exactly do you follow in the
"alt.fan.teen" and "alt.fan.teen.idols" news groups then if you do not
follow any teen girl singers/actresses?
Actually, the mission of alt.fan.teen.idols is to discuss young male actors.
Their female counterparts are discussed in our "sister" group,
alt.fan.teen.starlets .

Hey MediaJock... I did not realize that. My bad. Any more talk about Cori
will be left to the alt.fan.teen.starlets message group.
Have a great evening!
Al

Or they would be, except that newsgroup is as dead as dead can be.
Mark
Except for this thread, of course. :o)
But yeah, pretty much everything happens over in the binaries group
these days: alt.binaries.pictures.teen-starlets
Cap'n Fool
Thank's Cap. I will head over to that group and see what is going on there.
Got to keep the news groups alive man! :)
Have a good night.
this group is catching up. it is pretty ummm empty to be kind :( only one
in nine now post to usenet. it use to be one in five internet users only 18
months ago :(
Yeah, I remember 10 years ago when all there really was were the usenet
newsgroups, and the beginning of the end to the old BBS's. There were no
"message boards" which are not all the rage.
I know that Cori Yarckin's message board has its ups and downs in regards to
posters, but over all I see a lot more activity there than on most news
groups now a days. Here board: http://pub34.ezboard.com/bcoriyarckin
I still think the newsgroups are important for getting news out to each
other and for sharing discussions with people though. But I think more
people find message boards easier to deal with and follow for some reason.
I do not think news groups will ever become useless though.

I dunno - I'd be willing to bet that the actual number of Usenet users
hasn't gone down as much as the percentages would have you believe.
I'm more inclined to think the reason for the above figures is that
fewer & fewer _new_ Internet users know anything about Usenet, and
god knows there are more & more of them every day. Personally, I've
always found Usenet to be way easier to work with than any Web-based
message board, especially with a good news reader like Agent. But I
guess it just depends on what you're used to.
Cap'n Fool
I agree with you on that. Most new users have no idea about the news
groups. People who use AOL or MSN really do not even know about them even
though they might use them inadvertently through their simplified Internet
software.
I am not using Agent, but it is still pretty easy to get on and read the
news groups anyway. What is the URL of agent, I would like to check it out
to see if it is even easier than what I am using now.

There is a learning curve involved, but that's mostly because it can
be configured so many different ways, to suit just about anyone's
preferences. For example, the thing I like most about Agent is the
huge number of available keyboard commands - you never even have to
touch the mouse if you don't want to.
There's a free version there you can test-drive, to see if you like
the way it works.
Cap'n Fool
Thank's Cap. I checked it out online briefly and liked what I saw. I
downloaded the full version and will give it a test drive this weekend. A
lot of those features are already incorporated into the MS stuff, but there
were really nice extra features. This is something I think I can use.
