I don't think it's anything they took out but what they put in. The notion
that a kid could shoot someone in a school hallway with others around, then
have time to attempt to shoot another with many just walking by seemingly
not fazed by the incident wasn't very credible. (And, of course, a guy like
Spinner wouldn't just have a change of heart and come forward about his
bullying after the fact...)

This was another extremely great episode, It gave depth to the characters
and pit a nicer, softer touch on the usual ruffian Kyle/Evan. That's what I
like about this show - I think it is a more honest depiction of how boys
really are than the stereotypes most other shows play them as.
For some reason my DVR did me dirty. It threw this out of my scheduled
recordings, so when I manually recorded it I missed half of Joan. For some
reason it kept telling me that, when I reprogrammed Savages, I was trying to
record 3 things at once when I only had 2. Grrrrrr...thank God for
Torrents.

I AGREE 100%, I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!
I can't believe it took me about 2 months before I bothered with it. I
was thinking "Oh no, not another Erik Von Detten Flop", but boy was I
wrong. This TGIF show on ABC can be around for years like "Step By
Step" was and other shows like "Sabrina", of which I never watched and
the Urkel show that I can't think of by title right now.
The show is funny and has had some great storylines. I loved the Betty
White episode last week and the turkey episode the week before where
the turkey attacked the boys.
Even the silliest of plots can be so creative on this show.
What about the two dogs talking to each other this week.
GENIUS, PURE GENIUS.
Brilliant comedic writing.
Can we now get Jerry Lewis as a guest on this show too!! LOL
I know what happened in what you state below:

I don't know if you have the same up on your system as mine and if you
are using a TiVo DirecTV unit but I'm almost sure I know what the
problem was and might be able to show you the evidence still on your
screen.
What probably happened here was one of two things.
Either A: You ran out of time and the recorder could only record up to
the time it had left on the disc.
Or B: You tried to record a third program which conflicted with the
other two even though only two were recording at once and the third
didn't start yet.
Did you add an extra minute, two minutes or five minutes to any of the
shows, which might have prevented a third from recording? Under Season
passes you don't realize this till later unless you manually enter the
program, at which time it will alert you right away.
What you can do is check your settings by going to your "To Do List"
AND then clicking onto "View Recording History"
At the point when you enter 'VRH' it might offer up an explaination to
as why your show didn't record.
This MJ is of course assuming your wording and set up is the same as my
unit but if not, it should probably be somewhat similiar.
Make sure you have enough time on your disc left though.
I can only play with 7 hours for new programs because I have about 28
hours of unviewed movies from as far back as August that I haven't
gotten around to yet, so I keep making sure that I keep track of the 7
hours and go thru my shows as fast as I can. Sometimes I can't and i'm
not able to tape.
I definitely need another unit with more time on it. That's my only
complaint with TiVo.
William
I don't believe it is either of those. I deleted both programs and reset
them, then tried deleting and resetting in different orders but it still
didn't work. I also tried recording another program (Family Guy) at 8:30
and it still wouldn't accept. The really odd thing is that the DVR had no
beef at all with me recording 8 Simple Rules at 8 and Joan of Arcadia - but
whatever I set at 8:30 was not working even though I had no other programs.
I double checked all the programming start and stop times, thinking ABC was
going to start doing Savages like they do Wife Swap and Desperate Housewives
with the off-hour timing but that wasn't the case and all my 9:00 programs
started at 9:00 - not 8:59.
Basically I think that my DVR is a cheap imitation of TiVo. It's not TiVo
brand but I get it through my cable company (Charter). A few experiences I
have had tell me that they haven't quite worked out all the bugs with it yet
but that doesn't stop them from rolling it out anyway.
Anyway, I guess since I got the torrent this is all water under the bridge -
till next week anyway. All that said, I just saw an article at Zap2It
happily announcing that Complete Savages has officially (finally) received
a full-season order. Article at:
http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,271|92142|1|,00.html
>I definitely need another unit with more time on it. That's my only
>complaint with TiVo.
I have read that it is easy to put a bigger and/or additional hard
drive in a TiVo and that some of the newer ones have 48 bit addressing
so that they can take drives bigger than 137 gigs. Maybe you could
put two 400 gig drives in your Tivo and have hundred of hours of
recording time available.

I am TERRIBLY cruel to my cat. I tease him with a vine tendril
until he either jumps up in the air to bat at it or zooms around
in a circle until he gets too dizzy to stand up. What is cruel about
it is that I don't do it nearly as much as he wants me to.
