I recorded and watched this, as I'd never seen it. Based on that, and
just for future reference, I can report that this particular episode
of "Latino Filmmaker Showcase" has no T-I content in it at all. I'd
say the youngest male person in it was about 23-25-ish. There are a
couple of other films this series has shown that DO have relevance to
this group. They are "Learning to Swim," and "Sensitive." There
might be others.

Do your listings actually have the above listed as the show's title?
My TiVo guide's listings, which come from the same source as yours, as
I understand it, have the show listed under its actual title, "Strange
Days at Blake Holsey High." That would be very odd if the site you
use changes the name of the show.
In the opening credits, we see the sign with the school's name X'd
out, and "Black Hole High" spray painted on it. But the only other
reference I'm aware of to that alternate name is in the occasional
mention in the dialog during a few episodes here and there.
We all know what your lsiting means, so I'm not advocating a change.
I'm just curious if that's your substitution for expedience
(completely understandable), or your source site's substitution
(completely inexplicable).

Weird. Obviously we've been wrong (how can that be?!) in thinking that Tivo
and Tribune Media listings are identical. (Maybe they get most but not all of
their data from the same source?)
But about the names ...
When I first ran across the series (on WAM quite possibly) it was called
"Strange Days at Blake Holsey High." The voice-over at the beginning of the
show always ended with "... but these are strange days at Blake Holsey High."
Later, when the show turned up in syndication (on Discovery Kids, I believe)
the name had been changed to "Strange Days at Black Hole High" or just the
shorter, "Black Hole High." I figured it had to do with syndication rights or
somesuch. It's a Canadian show (another FINE Canadian show, I might add!) and
there are some odd laws governing media-sharing between the US and Canada.
Or maybe it's as simple as this: when the show went into syndication, the
syndicators felt more people would "get" the sledgehammer "Black Hole" than
the more cerebral "Blake Holsey" (which obviously is a euphemism for the
former.)
Anywho, for whatever reason, the show has been called both "Blake Holsey" and
"Black Hole" at one time or another. :-)

Interesting. TiVo guide's listings and the opening credits of the

Charter's on-screen guide just says "Strange Days."

My bottom line is that I agree with you: Whatever the name, it's an
enjoyable show (especially when Michael Seater and/or Noah Reid is/are
on screen).

Believe it or not, that typo (for once!) is intentional. I picked it up from
a coworker years ago. She also favored "howsomever" but I never adopted that
one. :-)
