Damian Shanahan introduced me to Steve R, and he and I had a good long
chat about life, the beeb, our fellow St*n*c8tters, etc. I'd brought
along a camera, but thought it would be a bit fangirly to ask for a
photo with Steve. Not to worry, Rich and Steve had also brought their
cameras, and also wanted a St*n*c*tt*rs photo! Can whoever got the photo
of me sitting on Steve's lap send me a copy, please? :-)
I didn't see many of the panels, or whatever, cos I was to busy catching
up with people. but the ones I did see were fun. Steve gave an
interesting panel about the recons, and showed a "world exclusive" video
about the re-discovery of Spc* P*r*t*s 2.
I also saw The f*w D8ct*rs. My god, I've never laughed so much in all my
life! For those of you who haven't seen it, it's a fan video produced by
the p*n*pt*c*n people (or is it Man-?) and it's damn funny. Oh yeah, and
it has original props from the series - Cyb*r outfits, s*nt*r*n
costumes, K8, F*f*, a T*RD*S, plus appearances by JN-T, G*ry D*wnIe, and
our own mr R*ss*ll. (Although, Gaz, I have to admit, i didn't pick you,
I only spotted your name in the credits). Apart from the amazing props,
the thing was ROFL material. Anyone know where I can get a copy?
The funny thing about these cons is that I always end up winning
something. last time it was the gr**n d*ath, the time before that it was
D*st*ny of the d*ct*rs. last night I won a lucky door prize (with Rich's
ticket, which he'd given me before I'd left - thank you!!) and <ahem>
the Double Gamma for Best Australian Fan Writer. <big goofy fangirl
grin>. That was totally unexpected, and I was quite flattered.
I also got some goodies a friend of mine had brought back from England -
my very own copies of some Wh* vids, and a N*ck C*urtn*y autograph. :-D
So, yeah, great way to celebrate the anniversary. Great time, lots of
friends. Tpday I'm just going to kick back and watch some of my news
vids. And if anyone's interested, I'll be posting some anniversary stuff
to ADW* later this arvo.
Regards,
Susannah :-)

I can't imagine Mr Roberts with a suntan!!! Or Mrs Roberts for that
matter. I can't wait to see this....

Steve nice chap (sorry about the NA chat) and I'll say it again lovely
accent. Actually I'll have to credit Steve - certainly rekindled my
interest in watching that show again - wanting to dig out some of the
old stuff. He also has a nice suntan than I'm sure he's going to show
off.

<blush>. Ta. Apparently just about everyone there, including Steve, knew
about it. I got in a good plug for PT during my speech, too...

Thankyou very much! Although, obviously I don't actually have an accent, it
was you lot that talked funny!

More of a sunburn than a suntan and most of it has gone now. How fickle
Mother Nature is...

24 degrees when I left Sydney, 3 degrees when we hit Heathrow. <shiver>

I agree, I really enjoyed it, even though I had the disconcerting
experience of being on the wrong side of the cameras for a change! : )

It was Richard - please could I have a copy too? I've got a lovely one of
Richard and Susannah which I'll scan and post somewhere when I get back to
work.
Great to meet the two of you, BTW! Lovely people! : )

So how did the flight go? How tired where you both? What was the
inflight movie?
And how was going over the Bridge like? I think I might get tickets for
it next week.

I've still got 10 shots on the camera, but it will be process on Monday
for sure.

Ah bugger a photograph exists with my recent haircut. newman!
> Great to meet the two of you, BTW! Lovely people! : )
Yes but it was a lovely pleasure meeting you, although I was just
thinking that I should have taken you guys out to dinner. But I do
believe there will be next time.
> So how did the flight go?
Very long - 36 hours door-to-door, two 13 hour flights to contend with in
the middle!
>>How tired where you both?<<
I slept through the second leg so I was OK. Vicky didn't though, so she
went to bed at 4pm yesterday afternoon and didn't arise until this morning!
>> What was the inflight movie?<<
Truman Show, X-Files and some lame comedy - seen 'em all anyway.

Absolutely brilliant! Definitely do it! It pissed it down when we got to
the top but it was great fun.
Steve

Just the way I like 'em... : )
Steve
Welcome back sir! Trust you had a good time - how did Steverobertscon go in
the end? And as for your brother in law getting hitched.......
Streuth and cor blimey, after we'd thrown a prawn on the barbie for
youse all, too. :-)
BTW, welcome back, Steve!!!

I know the feeling. I burn like you wouldn't believe, but it fades
remarkably quickly...
And I've got a photo of it too, rich... Bwahahaha!

That's very sweet, Rich, although I dunno if I would have been able to
make it - my parents don't like me on the trains after around 7 or 8 at
night. Still, as you say, next time maybe we can work something out in
advance.
Regards,
And it's about time. :-)

Ouch! I knew England was cold in winter, but that's just unliveable!!!

Erm, well, as one of the people brandishing cameras... sorry. :-)

Yeah, I thought it was Rich. I still have another 11 shots to go on my
camera, but when the film's developed I'll put my one of the three of us
on my website.
> Great to meet the two of you, BTW! Lovely people! : )
Ta. Nice to meet you, too, Steve. Also a lovely person. :-)

Very well! It was a very enjoyable little con and it was nice to be able to
put faces to names at last.
And as for your brother in law getting hitched.......
I know... spooky, isn't it?
Steve
Oh, has Matt got married now?
gee
> Oh, has Matt got married now?
Not quite - February 20th, I believe.
Copycat...
Steve
Ah, yes. This video was the cause of much squealing at the PMEB
room party at V*s*ons this past weekend. I think we had about three
calls from security to quiet down *smirk*
It is available via mail order, IIRC.

<giggle>. Any party where you get asked to keep it down is good - but
three visists by security? Must have been one hell of a party!!!

Yeah, I've got the details, I'm just a bit skint at the moment...
