Where do I find a DVD ripper that can give me just the audio (wav's, MP3 -
doesn't matter too much). Oh, and freeware, please.

BTW, I would guess this to be legal. Right?

TIA
Liesl

Generally to rip the sound from a dvd you must play the dvd on a stand alone
dvd player & run the input into your computer soundcard & as it plays then
capture the sound wave on a piece of software such as Cool Edit Pro or
Musicmatch Jukebox. johnny

Hmmm. That wont work for me. I only have the PC's DVD player.
Thanks for the suggestion, though.

You can try this:

http://www.download.com/Digital-Sound-Recorder/3000-2168-10293719.html?tag=lst-0-1

There are lots of free programs that do similar stuff, ie. capture audio
from your soundcard to a wav/mp3 file. If you do a little searching on
google/download.com for "sound recorder" you might find something of
interest.

About legality, I'm really not sure, but I'm guessing since you own the DVD
it should be alright.

Hope that helped.
