There was a tour for Nothing Like The Sun, as I've heard, but I've never
heard anything specific about it. Who were the musicians and what did
they each play. I know Menu Katche was there but who played bass and
guitars and all the rest of it?

If I remember correctly, the tour had
Sting - bass, guitar
Dominic Miller - Guitar
Delmar Brown - Keys
Tracy Wormworth - bass
Kenny Kirkland - Piano
Marvin 'Smitty' Smith on drums
Steve Coleman - Sax (Only a few shows)
Branford Marsalis - Sax
And I believe Dolette MacDonald and Janice Pendarvice on backing vox.

Smitty Smith may have been replaced by another drummer later in the tour,
I forget.

I saw Sting at Wembley Arena, London on the 21st of Decmber 1987.
The musicians were:

Kenny Kirkland on Keyboards,
Tracy Wormworth on Bass
Mino Cinelu on percussion
Jeff Campbell on guitar
Delmar Brown (also on keyboards, with a very weird dress sense!_
Steve Coleman on Sax (Who had at least one album released through
Pangea)
Branford Marsalis on Sax

The drummer was supposed to have been Marvin "Smitty" Smith,
but for some reason it was a French bloke, can't remember his name.
It wasn't Manu Katche though... This guy was white.

It was a really good concert, the first one I'd ever been to... Had
to leave a bit early though to catch the last train... What a
bummer! Halfway through Fragile, so I guess that would have been the
last song anyway ;-)

I have seen the "Nothing like the sun" tour in The Hague, Holland,
but the guitarist was def. NOT Dominic Miller. I can't remember at this
time who it was but D. Miller contact Sting later; when he was recording his
Soul Cages Album.

This was IMHO, THE tour to see. I saw him at a 3000 seat show in Troy NY
and it was fantastic. A great bootleg of the tour is out called: The Art
of The Heart"
It has three CD's from a small theater in California.

The "Nothing Like the Sun" tour was the first time I saw Sting live, so I
remember it well. The guitarist was Jeff Campbell, a guy who I believe
studied at the University of North Carolina. (It says in the tour program,
which I have stored in my attic someplace.) Anyway, he played a great solo
on "Little Wing," definitely his personal highlight in each show.

The fact that I have nothing meaningful to say doesn't mean I shouldn't
have a signature file like everyone else....does it?

Omar Hakim on Drums I believe, Kenny Kirkland on Keyboards, Janice
Pendarvis and others on backup vocals. Anyone else remember more?
