Happy Birthday, little boy blues. Happy Birthday, angel. You are
profoundly, and sometimes inconsolably, missed.

I'm watching the 1985 MONTREUX show on DVD as I write this. Man, it's
just so darn dear--so precious--how Stevie used to scoot all over the
stage, playin' & rockin' back on his heels, shakin' his little behind
all around.

Stevie'd be 54 today--can ya'll believe it!?! Seventeen years he's
been gone, but watching the shows on DVD makes me believe that in some
crucial, inscrutable way, he's still very much with us. And sometimes,
you know ... I get the feelin' that's no mere metaphor. ;-)
