Tracks from other SRV CD :
- Don't Stop By The Creek Son (available on the Boxed Set)
- Goin' Down (available on the Boxed Set)
- Pipeline (available on the Real Deal Greatest Hits 2 ; or the Back To
Beach OST)
Tracks available on other artists' album :
- Soulful Dress (Marcia Bell - Soulful Dress)
- Miami Strut (on AC Reed - I'm IN THe Wrong Business)
- Nan-a-Ne-na-Nay (Bill Carter - Loaded Dice)
- Let's Dance (David Bowie - Let's Dance)
- The Sky Is Crying (available on BB King & friends - A night Of
Blistering Blues)
Previously unreleased tracks (available on "import" CD ; but presented
here in greatly enhanced mix quality) :
- Oreo Cookie Blues with Lonnie Mack ("Mr CLean" ; Fox Theater, Atlanta,
31 dec 1986)
- On the Run with Katie Webster (??, New Orleans Jazz Festival, 1988)
- Albert's Shuffle with Albert Collins (??, New Orleans Jazz Festival,
1988)
- Change It with Jimmie Vaughan ("Chicago Blues Festival ", "The
Understanding Of Love" or "Up From The Skies " ; Saturday Night Live,
1986)
- You Can Have My Husband with Lou Ann Barton ("In 1978 there was...",
"Nashville 1978" ; Nashville recording sessions 1979)
- Texas Flood with Bonnie Raitt ("In concert and Jamming" and many other
import releases ; Bumbershoot festival sept. 1985)
On the downer side, the booklets is full of flaws (the biggest one
stating that "Goin' Down" is a cut from the 1984 CBS record convention
in Honolulu). This compilation also lacks homogeneity.
Note that "Solos, Sessions & Encores" turns "The real Deal - Greatest
Hits 2" totally obsolete as Pipeline was the only exclusive track on
this compilation.
