Well, I could admit I was joking... but I think I'll take
this one for a spin and see where it takes us. :)

No, No No Miss V!
Yoda is the first to die on the council! The one you see in ESB is Yoda
reincarnated! He's a clone from the first. That's the secret to his
longevity! He's just as wrinkled etc as Palpatine because he goes to the
same clone-tician!

Yoda used to be human, but the cloning process takes a little bit more out
of you each time round (except your ears - they grow). That's why he's so
short. He's been cloning himself for 900 years!

(I'm in peculiar humour today. :P )

Eh? Perhaps he was paid to pretend to be a decoy of members of the JC!!
Like Amidala did - Yoda could pay Greedo to be a decoy for him.
So thats how Yoda lives for so long without being huntered down.
They killed Greedo & thought 'Right thats Yoda dead, Lets get the others'

Oh hang on, that wouldnt work, Greedos alive up-until Han gives him a new
stomach.
Perhaps it was someone who Greedo paid to look like him, So they would kill
the Greedo look-alike thinking theyve killed Yoda, But infact theyve killed
a nobody while these two nefarious people continue onwards.
