meh... good but not THAT good. i found anakin's turn to the dark side
happened much too quickly, i liked the way palps manipulated anakin at the
beginning when he told him to kill dooku; however, after that, you really
didn't feel like his turn was justified. obi wan was like a father to
anakin, as stated in episode II. it seems unplausable that he would abandon
the very order he wanted so much to be a part of from the beginning and the
people he cared about and loved for the sole purpose of serving palpatine
and seeking the power to save padame from something that hadn't even
happened yet. i just felt some parts really sucked the wind out of this
movie's sails so to speak and other parts that really built up momentum,
weren't focused on enough... let's see anakin's true power when he destroys
all the jedis at the temple, or when he fights obi wan... in my opinion,
anakin seemed no more powerful a jedi than obi wan, and not even close to
yoda or sidious. the only real glimpse of the power within him is when we
briefly see the vader version after sidious tells him that he killed padme
and everything in the room explodes... where was the force lightning before
the vader suit or taking out 10jedis in a huge battle scene at the temple
instead of youngling... throw in the younglings to show what an evil fucker
he is but let's see some real bad ass moves also... anyways... decent enough
to stand on it's own but the OT still are the masters of this padawan.

Must have seen different versions of ep1 and 2 than I did.

It was clear to me that what Anakin sought all along was the power to fix
the galaxy's wrongs as he saw them. The Jedi Order and Obi-Wan were just
necessary means to that end. The Jedi Council were officious, arrogant
jerks - Obi-Wan and Anakin were two people who could barely stand each
other - and in ep2 and 3, Anakin saw them as people who were holding him
back. From halfway through ep1 to its end, you can see Anakin's sense of
disillusionment anytime the topic of Jedi training comes up. His expression
at the end of TPM spoke volumes - it said "Well if I have to put up with
these bozos for the next ten years to become a powerful Jedi, I guess I can
but I wish there was an easier way."

> for the sole purpose of serving palpatine

Serving Palpatine was just another means to an end for him. Once he grew
powerful enough, he would have tried to overthrow Palps as well.

Waiting for her to die before you try to prevent her death is considered
counterproductive.
