Okay, talking about pronunciation...as I`ve said in another thread, I always
thought the name was pronounced PalpaTINE but as we see from TPM,
Amidala refers to him as PalpaTEEN.

In an interview with Ian McDiarmid, he has this to say :

Q : Another question that's gnawed at me -- is it Palp-a-TEEN or Palp-a-
TINE?

A : Well, I don't know. I don't think George has an absolute view on that
either. I think in the end we came down in favor of Palp-a-TINE.

My question is, how have others referred to our Emperor/Senator in the
past and are there any other sources available to try and find out the
correct pronunciation ?

It was always TINE for me. Even now, almost a year later, it is hard to say
TEEN, but unless and until something changes it TPM is the only canon source
for actual pronunciation of the name. The TEEN is growing on me. You can
make a nifty little snarl as you say it.

It was always TINE for me too but as soon as I heard Queen Amidala pronounce
it TEEN I immediately switched. It might be possible to pronounce it both
ways like Han. We may yet hear it pronounced differently but for me it will
now remain TEEN.

personally, i've only used palpatine (not "teen") and i've only heard
otherpeople do the same (except for Amidala, but she has a weird accent anyway).

on the otherhand.... there are not that many canon bsources on pronounciation
except this one...

So have I. I wasn't surprised when it was pronounced PalpaTEEN. OTOH, I
thought Qui-Gon was pronounced QUEE-Gon. Once I heard it pronounced right, I
immediately started pronouncing it like that.

Maybe it should have been "niether" or "eyther for the
alternate spellings." Either, eyether, neither, nyther . .
. My luch is getting cold.

Anyway, I think George Lucas and the Star Wars authors
pretty much leave it up to the reader as to how to
pronounce names. I've never seen a glossary or "guide to
pronounciations." Even the Star Wars Encyclopedia doesn't
have any and there are some funky names in there.

I often pronounciate it like booba . Long "O" and a short "A".

BTW : Fett is the Swedish word for Fat. Imagine that.

I think "TEEN" is more intuitive, as I think the vast majority of words ending in "tine" are pronounced "TEEN". For example:

Sistine (chapel)
routine
saltine (cracker)
Philistine
guillotine
libertine
pristine

Obviously there are exception (e.g. valentine), but I think that's true for the vast majority.

According to a post on TheForce.net forums ...

I recall Ian McDiarmid giving an interview in Star Wars Insider
back around when Episode I came out. He talked about how he and
GL had discussed the proper pronunciation of Palpatine's name
on the set of ROTJ, and actually recalled that back then they
came down on "Palpa-tyne" (as opposed to "Palpa-teen" as heard
in the prequels).

Actually, I think McDiarmid's memory here may be influenced by
his accent. British English speakers tend to pronounce proper
names ending in "-ine" with a long I, whereas Americans tend to
use a long E sound instead. The same thing happened with John
Constantine from the Hellblazer comic: on the page, he was a
Brit who pronounced his name "Constan-tyne," but in the movie
adaptation with Keanu Reeves, the name was said "Constan-teen."

<http://boards.theforce.net/threads/how-do-you-pronounce-the-following-names-of-characters-places-or-things-from-star-wars.50022657/>

According to a poll at the top of that same topic, 88.2% of voters say
it rhymes with "teen".

You could always say it the same way as the computer speech synthesis
program reading the name: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpF64N8aOa4

;-)
