Guffman CD News

I talked to some very nice poeople at Castle Rock Entertainment and they
said that while there are no plans for a "Waiting For Guffman" soundtrack,
there is a promo CD out there. It features songs from (and that were cut
out of) the movie. It is called "Red, White and Blaine-The Musical from
the movie 'Waiting For Guffman'".

1. Overture

2. Covered Wagons Open Toed Shoes
(Music & Lyrics By Michael McKean & Chris Guest) Some of the music from
this made it itno the filma and the end of the song is there, but a lot of
the song is not.

3. Stool Boom
(Music & Lyrics By Harry Shearer & Chris Guest)

4. This Bulging River
(Music & Lyrics By Michael McKean) This song is not featured in the
movie, except for a fe bars that appear in the Overture. It is a song
that tells of a great flood that came to Blaine. Sort of an Old Man River
thing.

"The child don't know what she's saying/River don't get mean like a man/Or
at least that's what I'm prayin'/Don't want the water ragin' wild like an
angry man can."

5. A Penny For Your Thoughts
(Music & Lyrics By Michael McKean & Chris Guest) I think this is one of
the highlights of the film. The version on the CD has a few lines not in
the film.

6. Nothing Ever Happens In Blaine
(Music & Lyrics By Harry Shearer & Chris Guest) Only a few bars of this
song make it into the movie at the very end of the credits.

7. Blaine Panther Fight Song (Instrumental)

8. Bubby Made A Kishka
