I thought it might be appropriate to have a thread dedicated to people
talking about how many emblems they have gotten, how many A Ranks they had,
how their Chao were doing, what characters they were focusing on, etc. This
would not only allow for much shameless bragging, but would also allow those
having trouble to ask a person who they know has already completed that
part.

I like to help, really I do, especially when this stuff is fresh in my mind.
I'm even working on an FAQ. I like giving hints, too, to those who are stuck
but don't want to just give up completely.

Think it's a good idea, or do you think it's just a ploy for the shameless
braggarts of this newsgroup to strut and fret? And if you think it's the
second possibility, how much less would you think of me if I went ahead and
did it anyway?

I think I'm doing alright, actually. I've beaten several stages with an all A
rank, including Green Forest, City Escape, Prison Lane, Dry Lagoon, and White
Jungle. The later stages are more of a challenge, but I think I'll be able to
whip those with time and practice.

There are a couple of places, however, that are so frustratingly difficult to
get A ranks on that I'm literally bouncing off the wall with them! The driving
stages, especially (cause I suck at driving games), but none more irritating
than Metal Harbor and Sky Rail. Just what the hell does it take to get an A
rank in those stages, anyway!?

Uh, other than that, I'm fine, though.

I hear ya. I think I'll just get my racing-freak friend to give me a hand
with that one.

I've answered two of your questions - scroll down slowly to get
progressively more help...

>Questions:
>- Security Hall: Mission 3
>How do I get the Chao? I can see it, I just can't reach it.

Hint 1: It's just a matter of getting enough height and gliding to it.

Hint 2: Leaping off the walls won't give you enough height. Look for
something else.

Hint 3: Try looking around with your Vision Scope.

Solution: When you first reach the upper level, climb to that upper ledge -
you know, the one with all the lasers. The middle security switch area. Put
on your vision scope. There should be a spring right near you (near the "B"
label). Use the spring and a well-timed glide to reach the Chao.

>- Death Chamber: Mission 3
>I go underwater and everything, and even find a timer and I can hear
>some passage closing, but don't know what to do/where the Chao is.

Solution to the problem you're facing right now: Hit the timer, then swim to
the other side of the chamber you're in. The door is on the wall on the
opposite side.

Complete solution 1: First, find the timer. Hit the timer. Now, quickly swim
to the other side of the area you're in, and you'll see a closing passage on
the wall. Swim through it quickly. You'll have to pass through two more
rooms, one with an E-100 model and another filled with ghosts before you
reach a giant "inverted" chamber.

Complete solution 2: You need to locate two things in this room - a switch
on the ceiling and passage leading upward. Hit the switch, then quickly swim
through the passage and onto dry land.

Complete solution 3:
Now (yes, there's more), look ahead of you - you'll notice an hourglass in a
wall compartment and a sliding wall above it. You have to climb over to the
hourglass, hit it, get back to the straight wall at the back of the chamber,
gain a little height, then glide/climb over to the Chao behind the sliding
wall.

I reccomend trying all the "watery" stages (Metal Harbor, Weapons Bed,
Aquatic Mine, etc.) and also some of the space levels. There are a few
flying (?) seals in Meteor Herd, I know. Going by this method, Sonic's
Cannon Core must be loaded with them...

A question of my own - HOW? How did you get an "A" on the 4th Mission? When
I finally reached the end in time, I had 2:50 on the clock and ended up with
a C rank. I doubt an extra 9 seconds devoted to picking up Chaos Drives
would've helped me much.

I used the Light Speed Dash whenever it was beneficial, I took the high
route over the bridge (though I can't imagine waiting out the electrical
beetle is the fastest method)... is it a matter of spin-dashing? It doesn't
seem nearly as good as it was in Sonic Adventure, especially since Shadow is
forced to go through a lot of loops (the uphill parts seem to kill your
speed if you're not running) in this level.

Is there some other secret?

2,200 points jsut for this:

1. Instead of swinging on the pole, then jumping, and attacking the beetles
to cross:
a) I run along the edge of the bridge to cross.
b) Then I attack the enemy that drops down near the springs.
c) Then attack the golden bettle for 1,000 points.
d) Grind down the *right* of the bridge, not the left, while holding "B" for
extra speed.
e) Jump off at the edge for a 1,000 point trick, and you'll snag a one-up
for a 200 point bonus.

Mission 4:
Best time: 2:55:44
Best ring: 171
Best score: 14,290
No. of Plays: 4

Oh, also:

Knuckles: Aquatic Mine: Hard

"Almost reaching the ceiling."
""Water-Powered Lift" hall."
"Put them on the pulley."

I can *see* the third emerald but can't figure out how to get it with the

Last night, I finished the last of Knuckles' missions and got all of
Knuckles' A Ranks nearly back-to-back. Having already gotten the last of
Eggman's A Ranks a while ago and all of Shadow's missions not too long ago,
I'm now a bit stuck on what to do next.

I know I won't be finishing all of Tails' or Rouge's missions anytime soon,
as they both have driving levels. My problem is 50% that I suck at driving
games and 50% that I have no patience for driving games. So my lives will be
spent thusly:

-----------------------------------------------------------

[Route 280 - Don't Touch the Walls!]
Life 1: Hit wall 15 seconds into course.
Life 2: Ran out of time 2 seconds before finishing level.
Life 3: Hit wall 21 seconds into course.
Life 4: Hit wall 41 seconds into course.
Life 5: Hit wall 7 seconds into course.

[back to selection screen, reload course]

Life 6: Hit wall 15 seconds into course.
Life 7: Hit wall 2 minutes, 58 seconds into course.
Life 8: Hit wall before starting course.
Life 9: Hit wall 2 minutes, 57 seconds into course.
Life 10: Ran out of time 5 seconds before finishing level.

[back to selection screen, reload course]

Life 11: DC loads City Escape instead to spare my feelings. A Rank!

-----------------------------------------------------------

I want to save Sonic and Shadow's A-Ranks for last, as they seem by far the
hardest to collect. I suppose I'll go after Sonic's missions. He may have
50% more levels than Shadow, but he's the last character who still has
unfinished missions and doesn't have a driving stage.

My emblem results table looks really funny. While I've gotten all A's on
City Escape, I haven't completed any more of Sonic's 2nd missions. I've
completed all of Tails' first missions and the 2nd mission for Prison Lane,
but that's it for him. Rouge has about 2/3rds of her emblems (give me Meteor
Herd over Mad Space any day).

Final Tally: 116 Emblems, 75 A Ranks.

Funny, I actually used to do that before I realized you could use the swing.
This should save me quite a bit of time, even though I was already getting
the 1,000 golden beetle and another 1,000 for performing a trick.

Thanks for the help!

That's the 3rd emerald? Isn't that the 2nd? You are talking about the one
near the ceiling of the main room, right? If so...

Hint 1: Yes, you'll need your sunglasses.

Hint 2: Look at the barriers around the Emerald. Where would the spring have
to fire you from?

Hint 3: The spring is on a high place.

Solution: The spring is near the giant, spinning wheel on the right side of
the room. Climb up and stand on the girder on the left side, facing away
from the wall. Slap on your sunglasses, then hit the spring.

I don't see how I'll be able to beat Meteor Herd, let alone get A's. If I
jsut wander the massive level waiting for the hot/cold meter to go off, I'll
run out of time, but then if I use hints I won't get an A. =(

Still not sure where the Chao is in Lost Colony even though I spent 30

Pretty much the same with me. =\

I can't even get B's on mission one, let alone A's.

Sky Rail, Radical Highway, and White Jungle are fairly easy to sweep with
A's.

Final Chase mission 1, I usually die somewhere in the level ebcause of the
gravity, or the lock-on jump messing up, so then my score gets reset and I
can't get an A. 100 rings... I can't do quick, and I still have to find the
Chao here.

You want me to strut? Okay. Only 3 All A's left, Rouge's, Eggman's,

On Meteor Herd, use two hints. That should be enough to figure out
where the emerald is. Go right for it. You'll get at least a B,
sometimes an A. If you're lucky, you may get an emerald with only one
hint.

Yeah - it's pretty critical to learn to live without hints.

Remember - you don't have to sweep the entire level three times. From what
I've seen, there's always one "low" Emerald, one "middle" Emerald and one
"high" Emerald. If you find the low emerald, don't bother with the lower
part of the stage anymore.

The low area is the place you start up to the top of the tower. The middle
area is the hardest, consisting of all the junk between the top of the tower
and the bottom of the inverted blue tower. Still, realize that, no matter
how odd it looks, the level is still arranged as a square. Two circles
around the middle area, one in the upper part of the middle area and one in
the lower, should give you an indication of whether the emerald is there or
not. Then there's the upper level, which is fairly small but slow to get
around thanks to the tower in the center.

Also: know where the springs and rockets are.

The easiest way to get from low to middle is to do this - start by climbing
to the lower ledge of the main tower, the one with all the doors, meteor
chunks and blue boxes on it. Hit a spring - there's two on opposite sides.
From there, climb the tower until you're somewhat above the lowest platform.
Glide to it, then hit the spring. You'll land on a platform with another
spring - you'll now be high enough to sweep the upper part of the middle
section.

The easiest way to get from middle to high - in the upper part of the middle
section, there are two very large platforms across from each other. One has
three of those containers that are connected to the ground and require an
uppercut to break. The other has a rocket. The last spring mentioned above
should take you to the platform without a rocket, which will let you glide
to the island with a rocket. You'll have to climb to reach the upper part of
the upper section, I fear.

Your radar is larger than it was in Sonic Adventure, so you don't have to be
that close to a shard to see a response. Be willing to try and retry until
the first shard is low, the second one is middle and the third one is high.
As for common locations:

- Low -
Just sitting outside somewhere, either near a "drilling tower" (the big
towers near the edge of the ground) or near the main tower.

In a crate on one of the platforms in the center of the main tower. You'll
know it's there if you get a strong reaction as you use the spring on the
lowest platform.

In a big blue box. This is uncommon for the first shard, so don't worry
about it too much.

- Middle -
Just sitting on some random platform. You'll most likely notice this one as
you hop from spring to spring. Also occasionally in a crate.

In a meteorite - there's one part of the stage loaded with breakable
meteorites, near a spring and a Chaos monster. If you hop off the spring and
let your fall a bit, you should end up almost right on top of the meteorite
with the shard.

- High -
In an enemy - it's almost always in an enemy. Remember that there are four
more platforms above the first set, if you climb up there.

I'm thinking about writing a Knuckles' FAQ, actually... I have really
detailed instructions for how to get A's on the 2nd missions of Aquatic Mine
and Death Chamber.

>> Having already gotten the last of
>> Eggman's A Ranks a while ago
>
>Still not sure where the Chao is in Lost Colony even though I spent 30
>minutes looking for it.

Hint 1: You lack height. Look for a low place to get some.

Hint 2: A platform that rises when you stand on it would be ideal...

Hint 3: But if you're not sure exactly where the platform is, you'll
probably fall to your death.

Solution: Okay, there's one section where you've got to make your way across
a winding, narrow trail with only space below you, right? Well, walk forward
and turn left as normal, but before you leap across and face down the bomb-
toting thing, turn to your right and walk off the edge. There should be a
platform down there that will carry you to a new part of the level. Have
fun!

> Weapons Bed on Hard is also a pain.

It's a pain, but I find that you just have to go a bit lighter on the
trigger (that is, release it earlier so you don't get hit and lose valuable
style points) and know where the "drop down from above" enemies are. If you
are good about picking up rings to maintain your health, you should have
plenty of points by the time you reach the end of the level.

Hey, it could be worse - there could be lots of those Chaos monsters, right?

I... might've gotten all A's on Final Chase, actually. Not sure about the
2nd mission. Actually, I may have given up on restarting every time I died
during the fifth mission as well. The trick is to pick up as many 1-ups as
possible while going through it, so that you never have to worry about
reloading. There's three before you have to drop down the center of the
three psychadelic tubes...

But, yes, homing attacks and gravity are quite screwy in that area. Just
wait until you get to Hard Mode - insane. You know that part where you've
got to jump from vertical barrel to vertical barrel, and there's a Chaos
monster between each barrel? That part is a lot harder now. A LOT harder.

>100 rings... I can't do quick, and I still have to find the Chao here.

It's not that hard to find, I thought - search the area just beyond the
section with all those green barrels. You know, the one where there's about
a dozen of them. Specifically, look for one that a big red X sign at the end
of it.

Ah, okay. It's not as hard as I thought. It seems to be 35% skill and 65%
understanding the points system. I've already cleared out Radical Highway
and White Jungle. Sky Rail, however, is still a thorn in my side, if only
because, like Final Chase, it's too easy to die due to some quirk in the
engine.

There's one question that would make my life a lot easier if answered. What
determines, when you jump off a rail, whether you curl up into a ball (and
are able to homing attack from there) or go into a spread-eagled fall (with
no hope but to hit something on the way down)? I ask this because the Golden
Beetle in that level requires that you leap off a rail, homing attack to hit
it, then homing-attack back to a rail. 75% of the time (I love making up
percents, don't I?), Shadow leaps, goes spread-eagle and ends up plummeting
to his doom.

My memory about how far I had come in Final Chase was quite flawed - but I
know the level well enough that it shouldn't be too hard. Hard Mode will be
a challenge, I suppose... it's a good thing I'm building up so many lives on
his other levels.

As for me, I've been playing for a total of 39:15:54, and in that time
period, have earned myself 87 emblems. I haven't earned more than
that simply because I'm sticking to each stage until I get A's on all
of its challenges, and only then do I move on to the next one. So far,
I have straight A's on the following stages:

City Escape (Sonic), Radical Highway (Shadow), Route 101 (Tails),
Route 280 (Rouge), Mission Street (Tails), Aquatic Mine (Knuckles),
White Jungle (Shadow), Green Forest (Sonic), Pumpkin Hill (Knux),
Iron Gate (Dr. Robotnik), Metal Harbor (Sonic), & Go-Kart Difficulties
Beginner, Standard, and Expert (using Sonic).

Notice a pattern of sorts? I'm completing all the stages in the order
they appear on the stage select screen. The only exception I made
to that was Metal Harbor; after playing it a few times and getting crap
grades, I decided to play it until I'd mastered it. Aside from earning
emblems, I've also spent lots of time raising my Chao.

If memory serves me correctly, even if you go "spread eagle", you can still do

Not from a rail - I know there are situations where you can homing attack
while not curled up, but I've desperately jammed on the jump button on
enough occasions to know that you can't always homing attack after leaping
off a rail.

I find that slowing down helps, for those of you who are having the same
problem. Going straight from a crouch into a jump seems to prevent Shadow
from curling up as he should.

You know the first place you bounce off a floating Chaos Clone to a vertical
barrel beyond? Check the area below that - there's a ring container down
there. Also, on the second giant decline, leap off at the top - there's some
ring containers up there. I was done by the time I picked up the first ring
container up there.

Yup. Just finished Shadow's A Ranks. Three down, three to go...

Isn't Metal Harbor great? I love that stage. I just want to know,
why are there 4 Phenixes (plus an extra one in a Chao box) in that

They're not too difficult. If your life count is a little low by the
Sonic/Shadow finale, then collect lots of rings to up your life count.
Particularly do this for the "All" bosses as this includes Biolizard and
Finalhazard as well.

Where you get pulled up to the upper area - climb up to the top of the wall

The ancient ruins are decoys - though you'll need your mystic melody of
course to get the sunglasses in the first place...

Go over to the water mill and when on top of it, turn on your sunglasses.

It's important to note that the water level must remain at 3 throughout hard

Um... not really. It took me over 11 minutes to find 100 rings with Rouge in
Security Hall at first. Then the second time I just knew where things were
better. For Security Hall if you hit a switch, 30 rings appear in the upper
part of the level. There's also a lightning shield hidden in one of the
boxes.

1) Hop up, get six rings.
2) Hop down.
3) Go right, six rings. (12)
4) Go left.
5) Six (18)
6) Keep going, another 6 (24)
7) Tons of rings in the red room. (but I got hit)
8) Hidden in a red box in the red room is a 20-ring.
9) Continue to green room, six rings.
10) Keep going, another six, followed by another six. That should be enough.

I beat Dark Side bosses yesterday, and was up to Biolizard on All mode, but
my clumsy self that hits start on the controller a lot at odd times did
this. But I was running away from the boss so I tapped Up and hit "A" quick,
all in less than a second and didn't realize I had selected Quit.

Yes, it's a lot harder on Hard. =( They changed the switch for the rocket,
and it's back in the begining of the maze. Also the area with rings that you
light dash isn't there anymore. I don't know how to beat it.

Also, I have a very odd glitch.

Grab one or two rings, then get hit and lose them. Now quickly snag them again
and collect all the rings you can as fast as you can that don't involve you
going too far out of your way. After that, head back to where you started the
level off and use the BACK goal ring to start the stage over, with the amount
of rings you've just collected. Go wild and get every last ring you can.

Ooooh! I know this!

If you've found the safe where the emerald is, and you know where the switch
to unlock it is (on the LEFT on the higher level if you don't know - or is
it the RIGHT...?), once it's unlocked go down to the safe and you'll notice
that there's a great big crusher thing in the way. To deactivate the crusher
go up to the top of the lower level and a bridge to the right of that safe
that features a robot guard and a metal crate. Destroy both then turn on
your sunglasses. It should be obvious from there...

BAM, 141.

I knew how to unlock the safe, I just couldn't find the switch. I actually
stumbled onto it on the ceiling before reading this. Oh well, thanks anyway.

Mission Street 100 rings is seriously pissing me off, as is Weapons Bed,
Hard Mode. (to get an A) I had 28,000 points and was right near the goal, so
I think I would've gotten an A, when all of a sudden something fell out of
the sky, hit me, and made me fall in the water. REAL GOOD SONIC TEAM.
Seriously what the hell is the point of the enemies magically dropping on
you, or in Tail's levels shooting bombs at you. You have no idea it's going
to happen, and it just gets you mad.

Try this, cheap, but it works quite well, and you only need 50 rings
near you.

Get one ring, and get hit by an enemy. This will cause a "Back" ring
to appear at the start. Get the 50 rings, go back, and get them
again.

>You got any tips for getting 100 rings in the Knuckles/Rouge stages?

I've got the perfect method for both Aquatic Mine and Death Chamber - and
neither of them involving using the "Back" trick.

Aquatic Mine - grab the 8 rings around you. Now, turn on your sunglasses and
run around the outer edge of the room - there's 10 rings on the right side.
Once you've gotten them, glide to the central area. There are six rings near
the pulleys - one below each pulley and two on the walls next to each
pulley. Head upstairs to find a 10-ring container and hit the Level 3
switch. You should now have 8 + 10 + 6 + 10 = 34 rings.

Drill dive past the pulleys to land on the lowered platform on the 2nd
level. Look for the "WARNING! GHOSTS!" tunnel, and head down there. Dive
through the tunnel. You'll pick up every single ring as you go down the
tunnel, then hit both ring containers in the next room. Pick up every single
ring as you go down the next tunnel, then rise and bonk your head on the 20-
ring container. You're done.

Death Chamber - jump up, grab the six rings in the ring around you. Hit the
hourglass, snatch the 6 rings in the door beyond, then run back through
quickly. Head to the left, smash the boxes and dig through the wall
painting. In the next room, quickly hit the rocket on your right, then run
over and hit the hourglass on your left. Continue to the next room. In the
next room, kill the enemies and grab the rings. Don't worry about the
"puzzle", just dig through the wall.

Here comes a tricky part. Hit the electric shield, then glide across the
room and collect all the floating rings. Return to where you came from, then
drop straight down. There are two E-100 models in this room, so don't stand
still. In the Blue Room, head to the raised platform, dive in the water and
get all the rings in the little treasure chest room. Now, head back up, and
choose the center door. Get the rings in front of you, then turn to the
right in the next room and smash the crates to your right for 10 more rings.
Continue forward to the large, central room. Turn to your right. There's 10
rings behind the first giant statue. Just circle around the lower area, and
you'll be done in no time.

Oi.

I've currently got A's on missions 1-4 and a B on mission 5. The first
mission I got a 20020 on... I'm sure I could get an A on the last mission if
I could just clear that GACKING-PHRACKING tower easily. After I hit the
first spring, I always get thrown into the side of the wall by that booster.
Assuming everything goes smoothly there, the big guy waiting around the
corner screws me over.

*sigh* My lovely stack of extra lives...

Still, it is a very clever level, as long as you're not trying to get an A
and you only have three lives left and you've been trying all afternoon and
NO I USED THE LIGHTSPEED DASH I SHOULD'VE HIT THAT GRIND!! YOU OWE ME 600

Heh, interestingly enough, I can't get above a C rank in mission 1, but I got
an A rank on the last mission the first time through. Um, anyway, anyone have
any tips on how exactly you're supposed to get an A rank on missions 1 and 4,
anyway? I'm tired of seeing CAACA everytime I select that stage. . .

Excuse me, but: Gahahahahah!

I find that greatly amusing. Indeed. (Not your grades, Timestones,

1) There's two places to grind in the level. First one, use the left side.
Second one, use the right side. First grind is right in the begining. Light
dash with the four rings. Second grind is later on. You'll need to spin dash
up this ramp with a booster to get height, then jump forward to land on the
right side rail. This is right before sliding under the metal thing and
killing the enemies before the rocket.
2) Kill all the enemies. Right in the begining on the slope down there's two
there, then another one. (then light dash the rights)
3) Remember to kill that 1,000 point golden beetle and get the one-up.
4) There's a second hidden one up. The area with the spike balls and the
planes that bomb you with the boost pads. To the left before the buildings
there's an enemy. Kill it, and the ones that appear afterwards.
5) Get to the TOP of the rocket for the 1,500 point bonus and the extra
enemies along the way.

Nice summary. I didn't need every one of those steps, but then again I
squeeked by with a score of 20,020... anyway, one part could use a little
elaboration.

This takes some work, though. On HARD Mode, I'm almost positive it's simply
impossible - I eventually found that it wasn't necessary (curses! so many
wasted lives!).

Anyway, before the countdown begins, leap towards the base of the rocket
itself. Homing attack the spring to your right - this will let you avoid the
first loop around the rocket. Hit the speedster pad, and PRAY PRAY PRAY that
it doesn't send you careening into the wall, or your chances are shot. Run
up the ramp, hit the next speester pad, run right on past the bumper and
instead jump towards the next part of rafters. There's some enemies in the
distance - aim for them. More beetles will show up as you jump, allowing you
to homing attack to relative safety. Hit the speedster pad, then light speed
dash as you reach the top. Homing attack the bumper, then hit the next
bumper and earn your 1,500 bonus. I've never reached this handle with even
one second left on the clock, so be prepared to lose many extra lives
mastering this technique.

Still, 1500 technique points for reaching the handle, 400? for enemies, 300?
technique points for bouncing off said enemies and a whole mess of rings
can't be argued with.

I use a "trick" to ALWAYS get the 1,500 point bonus. When your running down
and about to make the first right (before the time even starts), DON'T. Just
look at the rocket base. There's two springs. I jump onto the base, hit the
right spring, and bypass a few seconds of rotating around the rocket. Cheap
I suppose, but why else are the srpings there?

Pyramid Cave 4 isn't that bad, I beat it with an A with 25 seconds left. I

Smiley, your problem is that you don't adjust yourself in the air.
After hitting the spring, just move a bit to the right, and you'll be
fine every time. There's even yet another hero animal at the top,
which I ususally have time for (w/o using Speed Shoes also)

Perhaps you can help me with something... I found a great place for
TWO of the three Hero animals, the pheonix and the dragon. But I
can't find a nice fast place to get unicorns, so I'm playing City
Escape and getting the last chao box. :( Anyone know a faster way for
Hero side?

I know there's a switch where you usually have to do the bounce attack,
hidden under the metal boxes, but then I don't know how to re-circle the
maze again. Not to mention the coins to light dash with are missing.

I'm probably overadjusting, actually... I know that I'll land short
otherwise, so I nudge Sonic back and forth in the air, trying to figure out
exactly which way the pad is.

After hitting the pad, I usually let Sonic motor up the ramp, even after
losing the initial burst of speed, since it's safer. I'm sure a well-placed
homing attack would be more effective, but it doesn't really matter
anymore...

Guh? How? I have trouble navigating those "ring" sections - whenever I try
to go up the wall, I tend to lose a lot of speed and fall back to the
ground. I suppose if I wrote out where the rings are, I'd have an easier
time...

As for the Golden Beetle, it's in the same area as that robot guarding the
springs that bounce you straight up but don't actually send you anywhere.
The Beetle is near the camera at that point, to the robot's left.

>Mission 5 with the big ghosts is a pain though.

I'd assume it would be easier, if you stopped to kill all the Boom Boos. 300
points a pop isn't a bad deal for a few seconds of work...

>Crazy Gadget's maze changes on Hard mode... and I can't beat it... at

That's okay. I can't find Crazy Gadget's Chao. It's in the maze, right? I
have to activate the Mystic Relic on the Purple Block, then... set the
gravity to fall towards the exit, then... stand on the purple block and...
Light Speed Dash/jump towards the Red one? And it looks like there's another
gravity changer on that side of the Red one, but...

Don't tell me exactly where it is, but am I on the right track?

bounce attack for the one-up in the first section, and light dash through

No, there's these BIG ghosts that just hit you and make you lose your rings
on Hard. The annoying thing is they're all over the place in the area with
the timed door. So you have to navigate away from them, while going through
hoops for Technique points, while making it to the end before the door
closes from the timer.

Huh? Activate the ruin and then I think rings appear to light dash. ... I
think that's it. But I haven't tried it in a while.

Hmm. Maybe I'm just holding the stick in the wrong direction. In any case, I
end up having to stick to the central path until the rings I want to jump
through aren't too far up the road, so I can gracefully glide up the side of
the wall and NO WHY DID I FALL OFF ARGGGGGGGG.... >(

Yep, I've been doing that. I haven't tried too hard, actually - I'd much
rather be frustrated by a short but sweet stage like Metal Harbor than a
long and dragging stage like Pyramid Cave.

Yeah, I know. The ones with stiches for mouths. It takes about three homing
attacks to work them down to size and dispel them. But I haven't tried
slowing down and hitting them all yet - maybe only some of them can be
properly killed...

See, if you can kill all those ghosts, it would make sense to run through
once slowly, killing them all, then go through it again quickly for
technique points. At least, I think it would. I still don't know exactly how
the Time Points system works.

When I use those rings, I seem to get lifted really high above the abyss,
then dropped.

...unless I adjusted in midair and missed whatever I was supposed to be
landing on...

...I'm going to be very upset if I wasted 10 lives trying to perform an
impossible feat...

VERY bad. A friend came over and as we were playing 2 player i used the 180
save but he accidentaly hit the change slot button on my memory card to my
save (117 and about 30 As) and both got corrupted

Ahhh... beat it with 5 seconds left. Learning where the rings are is the
most important thing - the rest is just picking up those little keys quickly
and knowing exactly to take that looooooong tunnel so that you get a bunch
of technique points and still make it through the other end.

It's tough, but after Final Rush, it's a relief. Now I've finished Sonic,
Knuckles, Shadow and Eggman. Only Rouge and Tails are left. Hmm... what do
they have in common? I wonder...

And I'm right, too! To test my theory, I went after every last ghost and
every last point with no regard to time in Hard Mode. Finished the stage
with just under 18,000 points, zero time points. Now, I'm sure you can score
higher, but I can come back for better scores later.

Oh. Just. Hold. Forward. Hee hee. Don't mind me.

Anyone else think, by the time they got to Crazy Gadget, Yuji Naka was
already thinking about how a 3D version of Tetris would work?

For cannons core, the first mystic melody is with eggman when you're about to fall down the shaft. Stand on the left guard rail and hover over to the door across and use mystic melody. Finish eggmans part.

When you start up as rouge, a tunnel opens off rip and you play mystic melody with her.

When you start as knuckles theres platforms that appear, you climb up them and take the pulley, mystic melody again.

Now when you're playing as sonic and you get to the waterslide, right at the start theres a line of rings you can dash up. Hold up, and you should come to a platform with two enemies, kill them, proceed, kill the next three and get your chao. Beat it under 7 minutes for an A rank. Constantly use the time stops when you can as they stop the clock.

For metal harbor A rank, just try and get all the rings, get as many combo kills as you can, hit the rails when you can, and if you do it right you dont need to take the upper path on the rocket for the A rank. But if you want to, hold the spin dash button and turn around the corner being very careful as to not hit the walls, quickly kill the enemies and use the ring dash to get to the spring to grab the rocket. I usually end up with either 1:40 left or 0:40.

For Crazy Gadget chao, use the mystic melody on the purple block and light dash up the rings and hold up. Thats it.

Final Rush is just too easy when you get the hang of it.

4 more missions until all A ranks. Over a decade of experience. Come at me bro.
