Okay... after not updating for a few days, they're now on "Day 4" and
have stuffed the archive with a couple sets of proported previous

Anyway -- my purpose here is to point out one thing...
Sonic now has a "grind" move?

Well. There that is. I'll hold off opinion until I see if it actually
works or not. Who knows... it might. Hmm. Just the connotation is a

There's a who in the what now? Oh, wait. I see. What's so wrong with
that? Well, I guess the "mad skills" bit is a little OTT, but whatcha

Yeah... I mean... it has potential. That whole bit in the trailer
with Sonic sliding into the levels on this long rail was rather
dramatic, and it's not like it doesn't fit in with the whole Sonic
concept. I'm just kinda' wondering how it will look five years from
now, is all -- whether it will still seem cool, or like some amusing
cultural artifact from the end of the twentieth century. It seems
slightly contrived to me, just at first glance -- like the addition
of a move for the sake of adding a move (and a Totally RAD move, to
boot). But I could be completely on the wrong track with this
impression.
We'll see how things go, I guess...

Okay -- I'm quoting from today's update:
:With the wide variety of playable characters...the charm of Sonic
:Adventure is back! Characters intertwine behind the scenes to reveal
:another Sonic epic. Our story would not be complete without the
:undisputed guardian of the Master Emerald, Knuckles the Echidna.
My question is -- what, precisely, do they mean by a "wide variety"
of playable characters? Were they merely referring to SA1 by this, or
are they insinuating that there will be more characters besides Sonic
and Knux this time around? It certainly sounds like the latter, at
least from the phrasing -- but then again, the English in general on
this site is not as solid as it might ideally be.
Something else for the rumor mill, anyway. Personally, I'd like to
see what would happen with the game if its focus were narrowed down
to Sonic, Knux, Eggman, and this "Dark Sonic" who seems to have some
place here. But I've mumbled about that in the past, so I'll shut up
here.

I don't have a problem with it at all, and look forward to seeing it and
that entire area of the game in action. Fnoo's post about it becoming
"some amusing cultural artifact from the end of the twentieth century"
had a valid point, though. Of course, that snowboarding bit from Sonic 3
still has to be the coolest moment in video game history for me.
At least they're not taking the Sony route and putting snowboarding or
skating in EVERY game on the system. There was a frikkin' SK8ER D00D in
Final Fantasy VIII for chrissakes. I like Sony and all, but they're
insatiable desire to cater to the d00dz out there wears me thin after a
while.
*Ahem*. Getting off topic, here. Sorry.

I think it's both, personally.

'twould be an interesting game, and I might even venture to say it'd be
extremely nice to not have to suffer through Big's, E102's, or Amy's
game, which seemed to me like afterthoughts thrown into the game at the
last moment.

Eh. I found E102's game fun to play, and of the three you mentioned I'd
definitely keep E102's. Amy felt like a Sonic level without the speed and
Big... I won't talk about Big. Without all six characters, SA would've felt
even shorter than it does now. However, if Sonic Team could weed out the
lesser plotlines and deepen the main ones...
So basically, I'm agreeing with you, but I'm glad for the variety in SA1.
It just wouldn't be Sonic Adventure without it, I suppose. And you really
need to play as Gamma in order to understand his story. Amy compliments the
Gamma story, so with the exception of Big I'm glad they left everyone in. I
would love a more focused SA2, though...
I dunno, but it better have a playable MechaSonic(CD) (screw metalsonic! If
the Mecha in SA2 is anything like the lifeless one in SA, it'll be a hit!), and
at least ONE playable Chaotix member. I say at least have a playable Mighty.
