looking at Dark Sonic and a close up of Dark Sonic. The text did'nt call him
dark Sonic, but a mysterious black hedgehog. What do you think?
1) Eggman's creation.
2) Eggman's creation that has a mind of his own and turns on Eggman.
3)Comes into the game by himself.
4)Someone else's evil creation.
I'd have to go with either 2, or 3.

Maybe there are actually two "universes" in the game--One part ("time",
"universe", etc.) takes place in Sonic's point of view, with Sonic battling
against Eggman's forces, and the other part ("time", "universe", etc.) takes
place in Eggman's point of view, with Sonic looking "evil" and mysterious.

I... strongly doubt it. But it could simply be a Sonic from an alternate
dimention, where Sonic is evil, and Eggman is fighting him to keep him from
taking over the world.
So, the Eggman YOU play as is actually the alternate Eggman, who follows the
evil sonic into the good sonic's dimention to stop him.
Of course, I think we'd assume that the Good eggman would look different
too, so I don't think that's right. But, one thing that's very possible:
Super Dark Sonic.

Well you could be playing as Eggman trying to stop Dark Sonic from taking over
the world while Eggman tries to take over the world himself. That might be it.

Sonic Team decide to use the Kintobor story of Robotnik's
creation, and somehow the same thing happens to Sonic
because of the Chaos Emeralds to create an evil Sonic, which
Sonic originally turns into in times of great stress, but
eventually gets split off from him into a separate entity..

Um. If it's all right, I'll just ignore this alternate-universe stuff
for the moment, as it doesn't really seem to fit the Sonic Team style
any more than "Nails the Bat"...
But Super Dark Sonic is almost a given, if you recall the trailer;
remember there was this long list of opposites? Amongst those was
"Chaos/Cosmos". If Sonic uses Chaos energy, then this new fellow...?
As far as plot there's got to be a reason Robotnik is playable, if
you think about it. Being that Eggy, for all of his nastiness, isn't
exactly the fully, dangerously evil entity he'd like to be, it
doesn't seem like much of a trick to find something which is as much
a danger to him as Sonic, and for which he might be particularly
well-equipped to handle, from past experience (unlike Chaos)...
There's always the possibility that Sonic becomes infused with this
"Cosmos" energy which is being alluded to and goes nuts, forcing
everyone else to stop him... but again, this doesn't sound like Sonic
Team's style, exactly.
The only major question so far (which one might know to ask) seems to
be whether Dark Sonic is Robotnik's handiwork or not. He certainly
seems organic at a surface level, but perhaps Robotnik's become a
much better craftsman over the years.
And if this guy down the hall (previously right next door) doesn't
either kill his speakers or shut his door within thirty seconds, I'm
going to search for my trusty brick...

Probably not. The way I figure it is this: Eggman is still working with
organic weapons instead of mechanical ones. To defeat Sonic, he creates a
creature with Sonic's speed, Knuckles' strength (hench the red highlights)
and Eggman's brains. Unfortunately, he ends up with a creature that is
smarter than himself, who proceeds to take over Eggman's operation. I hope
the three returning characters won't spend so much time chasing Dark Sonic
that they forget to interact with each other...

That's certainly the most interesting theory I've heard regarding any aspect
of SA2 that I've heard so far.

start to lose respect for them. Sonic needs to kept pure of commercial
cartoon plots in its games. The Evil Twin Episodes. I hated them in
cartoons because they were so cliche'. I don't want to see them in my Sonic

Actually, from my recollections from Mario Land 2 on Gameboy, Mario and
Wario were childhood rivals, not brothers. However, there is no explanation
into how he came into the Mushroom Kingdom (Mario spent his childhood in
Brooklyn, yet he still has his Italian accent. Ahhh, Brooklyn, NY...I'm
from Queens myself...) Harrumph...maybe he hitched a ride with Donkey Kong.
Anyway, I know it's OT, but hell, Wario is cool, but Wario went from being
Italian to being German during the course of the N64's life. In MarioKart64
he's Italian, but the instructions from Mario Party, and his voice in the
game, have him as German (more proof that he grew up in the Real World, not
the Mushroom Kingdom..so how'd he find his way there?????) I'm not sure if
he was a plumber in the real world like the Mario Bros. were...for some
reason I thik he was a carpenter?? Anyway, his name is not Wario Mario,
because they're not brothers (as far as I know)

I agree...that feed from E3 way back in May (I think it was E3) had a whole
bunch of opposite words appearing together interspersed with scenes from the
game. Seems to me like a bad hedgehog and a good egg-shaped man are
certainly in the cards.

And anyway.. the plot that has been revealed so far has all
been centered on opposites, Sonic and dark Sonic and stuff,

All the characters in Mario Kart 64 have equal high points and low points.
Wario may be heavier, so he can bump, say, Toad out of the way easily. But it
takes forever for him to build up momentum when the race starts AND if he shall
ever be stopped at anypoint during the race.
Personally, I think Luigi is the best. 'Cause he's my fav. Mario Bro. and he's
light-weighted, which has the opposite advantages and disadvantages as Wario.
And, IMO, light-weighted characters are better just as long you stay out of DK,
Bowser, and Wario's way.
Man i love that game :) Can't wait to get the version on GameCube. And maybe
GameBoy Advance.

You know how Sonic borrows the Super Saiyan (sp?) from DBZ? I think it
would be kinda cool if they used the fusion technique too...you know....like

That's exactly what I imagined..
On another note, I did hear a rumour that the bass player
from Dreams Come True got back together with Sonic Team to
do a bit of music for Sonic Adventure 2, which was remixed
by their in-house DJ for it, yippee!
The thing I'm wishing for now is for Eggman to get, at one
point, control of the last boss thing from Sonic 2, with
perhaps a dark techno remix of the original tune..
