I just d/led free agent, am having a bit of trouble with it. Is there
any way to have it d/l all of the bodies in a group, or do you have to
d/l them all manually? (Oh great, now I have to go through every
single message in agd and mark it read, and d/l it....)

Groups --> Default properties --> Retrieve --> click retrieve all
bodies to new messages.

Mine cascades. And someone else will have to help here as I dug around
but can't find it and I'm on Agent anyway. I do know that you can make
it do just about anything short of doing the windows :) Good luck.

Click on the header at the left side, so that it sorts by thread. Then go
to Navigate->Expand all Threads.

Hmm, which header? And the left side is the list of NGs. I tried
clicking the subject header, didn't seem to do anything. And what I
mean by cascading is having each reply be indented farther than the
post it was a reply to (In the message list window).

Click the "status" header, and it turns into "thread". I didn't mean check
all the boxes, I unchecked "start new thread when subject changes". Make
sure you expand all threads. Set the follow-up indent to about 4 spaces,
and the Maximum follow-up level to 15 (that's the max). At least that's
what looks good at 1024x768 on 17" monitor.

At this point I'm stumped. Did you know that you can get a thirty day free
trial of Agent? Try that and see if it does what you want.

If I click on "subject", it sorts by subject, and the first header says
status. If I click on where it says "status", it changes first to "thread"
and then to "size", sorting by each in turn. Did you click it more than
once? Cause the first click just transfers the focus to that frame, the
second click actually does stuff.

Ok, coming back. Just go to the message list, hit ctrl+A to select all
messages, hit M to mark for dowload, then hit the download button. Then go
make a snack. If you just want to mark as read, right-click any message,
and one of the options should be "Mark All Read".

Hey Linenoise, he is using FREEagent, it does not have as many options

In Agent, does it save the window layout? It gets annoying to have to
set it again everytime I open it. Maybe I should just keep it open all
the time.... =) Nah. Is there some way of having it save the layout?
Is it even in the full version? Btw, what font does the best smilies?

I believe if you select the menu option to mark all headers for download
(can't remember the menu), it'll ask before marking all read. Also, you may
be able to setup the options to ask before marking read.

choose default properties
click Mark Read tab
click the "do not mark any existing messages read" in both the upper
