If you have a CDPD modem which you are using with a wireless service, and
then you, for any reason (say you are testing another service), change the
IP address in your settings, when you re-enter the original IP address you
have to call your wireless service provided and *tell them to reset the IP
address* or your modem *will not connect*!
This is because when your modem first connects to your provider's network
for the very first time, it is given a passkey code, which it stores as
associated with the relevant IP address, and when you then change the IP
address, it wipes out that key (at least that is how it was explained to
me).
While this may be basic knowledge, tech support at my wireless ISP never
mentioned it, and it wasn't until Enfora returned my rather frantic call
that I discovered this (by the way, hats off to Enfora - their tech support
was *extremely* responsive, and very helpful!)
