Help!

We have a wireless network hub set up in our house, but it was set up for
us by someone else, whom is now unavailable to us - and we don't even know
where there are manuals or docs or disks or anything, and, of course, it's
stopped working.

Our setup is this:

FreeBSD server, connected to DSL modem, all desktops plugged into a SOHO
hub, to to which the server is also plugged in.

Also plugged into the SOHO hub is the Addtron wireless hub
The wireless hub has ceased working, by which I mean that it powers on when
plugged in, and my 80211b cards get signal, but it is not accessing the
network.

I tried changing the cable which connects the Addtron unit to the SOHO hub,
using a cable which I *know* works, but to no avail.

Does anybody have *any* suggestions as to how I could try to troubleshoot
this?

Thanks!

Anne

P.S. Please note follow-ups to alt.fan.shedevil, as my news server doesn't
actually pick up the wireless groups. :-( Thanks!

Sorry to be following up to my own posting, but I have realized that this
happened at just about the same time that I upgraded our server to FreeBSD
4.5; I don't know if I was running DHCPD before - but I'm definitely not
now, and it doesn't even seem to be installed - my desktop boxes do not run
DHCP, but it seems that all of the Addtron stuff I'm finding on the web
talks about their devices all having built-in DHCP client stuff. Could
this be the problem?

Thanks!

So here's the solution: it needed my server to be running DHCP.

Hope this helps someone with a similar problem in the future!
