Turns out this is Buckhorn Village, technically in Pioneer, California,
nearest post office is in Kirkwood.

Open as recently as April, but rather in New Cuyama.

A visit to the search engines of www.abc.ca.gov turned up all of four
more locations. Love that great state database software! PacBell's Smart
Yellow pages revealed 21 Buckhorns, fewer than I had imagined, ranging
from Mt. Baldy to McArthur (nearby Burney). Still, more than six degrees
of Buckhorns, if you will.

See http://home.earthlink.net/~markmellin/buckhorn for locations.
