The only advice I can offer is to visit the main website for the font
server you're using and check the installation instructions, FAQ's etc.

Failing that, remove it and upgrade to XFree86 4.0.1 which was released
at the weekend, that has a built-in font server.

Good, because my sound card advice is only specific to Red
Hat/Mandrake/Definite Linux :-)

Perl & Apache are out of my league too atm...
