You know, I think she is an adorable, extremely attractive, and a very capable
actress(she was excellent in THE NET and HOPE FLOATS) but ever since I first
saw her I noticed that she has one of the biggest Adam's Apples I've ever seen
on a female. Not that I mind at all, I actually think it looks sexy as well as
adding a nice accent to that sultry neck of hers , but I doubt I'm the first
person to notice this since it's so obvious. Comments?

That's her larynx, I believe she has zero body fat and it tends to
protrude. Now if she had an Adam's apple we'd see something
else protruding!

An Adam's apple IS the larynx. The visible lump, or "apple", that protrudes
out on some people is simply cartilage that makes up the body of the larynx.
So what we see on Ms. Bullock is indeed an Adam's Apple. I'm amazed that
anybody would NOT notice this considering how you can see it bob up and down
especially when she does talk shows..

I DID and HAVE noticed IT too. Especially in one particular pic(it is a side
view of her looking up). As i'm reading people's replys to your original post,
i notice some Sandra Bullock fans are a little TOO uptight. Well, NOT me, i
adore Sandra 100%, and she will continue to remain a HUGE part of my life, i
FIRST noticed her in Love Potion #9 and Demolition Man back in 1993/1994, and
she has been an inspiration in my personal life, and in my theater life.

A LOT of people i know noticed her Adam's apple as well, it IS very obvious to
people that actually LOOK at her(every part of her, like me, and being into
photography and the female form, this IS what i do).

But some people(especially men) do NOT like thinking their Sandra could be
imperfect, most people do NOT consider "it" attractive on women like YOU do, to
me it IS imperfection, but in my opinion, Sandra's "physical" isn't what i
FIRST found perfect , it was her personality, her realness, her acting, her
smile, and her humor, then soon her perfect but imperfect BEAUTY sucked me in
more and more EVERY time i looked at her, i really adored her in Demolition Man
and Speed (two of her BEST PHYSICAL films today).
So i ALSO noticed it, and i still wonder why exactly Sandra's sticks out so
much, i should ask a doctor, because i am super curious, and there is NO harm
in that.
I admire her, smile at her, i am fascinated with her charm, and i am fascinated
with her BEAUTY and imperfections from head to toe, sue me =) besides i adore
other female stars, and i never allow myself to ignore any imperfections, they
ATRE NOT GOD, they are human.

This is all just too bogus, I can't believe you people!
I posted a picture in alt.fan.sandra-bullock.binaries
that will put this to rest once and for all. Enough!

It is true though, her adam's apple DOES stick out a bit too much for a female.
Of course i really enjoy and collect Sandra. Sandra IS amazing beyond normal
speaking, and i know you probally do feel similar.
You should NEVER be upset about people pointing out this, if you really enjoy
Sandra in all her glory and pain, and appreciate all of her physically and
mentally, then hearing one thing on her isn't perfect, would not bother you to
the point of making that picture. We talk about many things regarding Sandra,
why not this? Oh well, we should move on. =)

Sorry about that, this thread was getting just a little
carried away and I thought I'd have a little fun with it.
After checking out a few pics and some video footage
I could see it, took me six years to notice it though.
I always seem to be captivated by her face and many
hair styles. She has kind of a goofy nose too but a ton
of charm, wit and beauty, and oh yeah, that cute voice.

Dear Steve,
LOL your post made me smile! No problem =) i happen to be able to split people
in half, the physical and the mental. I tend to focus on specific details, i
enjoy this, it helps me appreciate ALL parts of our human mind, soul, and body.

I also noticed Sandra's LARGER (kinda up and small bump nose, but Sandra still
remains cute and spectacular. In my opinion Sandra isn't perfect, but for some
reason it is her imperfections that help her out in Hollywood, people focus on
her smile NOT her breast, people focus on her talent NOT her makeup, but i do
not mind either one, it's just that Sandra can make you fall for her, and for
me it had NOTHING to do with her physical. I do like her full bottom lip, her
defined jaw line, and check out those HUGE cheekbones, aren't they perfect?

For example, i really admire the physical (in my opinion near perfection)
appearance of Charlize Theron, DKNY supermodel Esther Canadas, Pamela Anderson,
Angelina Jolie, pb model Stacy Sanches, and Mellisa aka Missy Crider (blonde
co-star on "The Others"), more than Sandra.

But in my opinion NONE of the people i named reach me, and suck me in
(emotionally) the way Sandra Bullock can do, her spunk, her smile, her talent
in more ways then simply acting take the cake in Hollywood. Sandra is the woman
who at first may not grab your attention, but one word from her mouth, and
you're mush.

I wonder if Sandra actually takes Love Potion #9! =)

The funny thing is that females do not have adams apples.

Guess this means that she/he is in drag.

Okay, let's get this straight: women are not said to have Adam's apples;
however, they most certainly do have the body part responsible. The
Adam's apple is nothing more than a projection of the thyroid cartilage
of the larynx. This tends to be, but is not necessarily, prominent in
men. It tends to be, but is not necessarily, inconspicuous in women.
It is not in any measure an indicator of gender.

Guess again.

Dear Vaxxon,
Imperfect to ME, NOT in whole, only compared to my OWN opinion of what i
consider perfect or ideal. Be careful to take what people or i say, and use it
in the BIG picture. I understand your opinion, and the fact you consider it
normal, and notice it on other women, and i don't doubt that one bit, but i
don't "personally" consider it attractive.

For instance in the picture inside/on the back of the FON DVD special booklet
of Sandra SMILING from the side w/Ben, it sticks out "extremely" far, it may
not bother you, but i dislike it a lot. I did not mean to offend you in any
way. I don't focus on it, in fact i really only notice it in PICTURES.

Body hair of course IS natural on both woman and men, however many people would
consider it "imperfect" for woman to wear noticeable amounts of hair on their
upper lip and/or chin. Many men "naturally" are only 5'3" (i know 2 adult men
this tall), many people could and DO consider them "imperfect". BEAUTY and
physical perfection will always be in the eye of the beholder, it will NEVER be
the entire world's standard, or practical in any form, no doctor, no teacher,
no scientist can make the decision for everyone.

Many "people" consider my FAVORITE model imperfect, odd, and weird. Why?
Because Esther's extremely skinny and 5'10", Esther's mouth (lips) are HUGE,
and puckered, Esther's eyes are amazingly white blue and incredibly deep set
(they look like she stole a lion's eyes), and matched up with her really
noticeable HUGE, defined, and in your face BONE STRUCTURE, square angular jaw,
hollow and extremely high cheekbones, and a very short and slightly sticked out
chin. People think she is odd, weird, and extremely far from normal, and that
she belongs on another planet, or in the zoo. If i had a nickel for how many
times someone says to me "that model is NOT human, too weird, too much like a
lizard," i would be rich! However i consider her the most beautiful woman on
the planet, complete perfection.

So the point is, imperfect is simply an opinion, and personal choice, Sandra is
NOT imperfect compared to society in whole, but i consider her neck imperfect
to my OWN taste period. Maybe you wouldn't use the the word "imperfect" when
describing your dislikes, however i'm quite sure yo find certain things
unattractive, and/or abnormal, that others like myself would consider perfect.
Anyway, i appreciate your opinion, and i hope to speak with you on other
topics. =)

Several points:

1) Bravo, Wordsmith

As I stated before, women can, and DO, have Adam's Apples. As you correctly
stated, it is not a gender specific trait. In this day of supposed
enlightment, it's hard to believe that myths and misconceptions to the contrary
still exist.

2) Lashana,

Wait a minute. Now why would you call her having a prominent adam's apple an
"imperfection"? Uncommon, for the most part, yes. But imperfect? Think
about it, would it make any more sense if I qualified her having relatively
small breast as an imperfection as well? Obviously not. Although, far less
common, a protruding Adam's Apple on a woman isn't some sort of physical
malady, it is no less natural on a female than it is on a man. After seeing
Sandra for the first time on that mediocre TV show WORKING GIRL way back when,
I've noticed several popular actresses who also have very visible adam's
apples. Meg Ryan, Winona Ryder, Michele Pfeifer, and Jenna Elfman (who
sometimes looks like she's got a golfball stuck in her throat!)

3) Lastly, the only reason I ever brought this topic was that last week I had
this discussion with several people who argued that because of her large adam's
apple, they were trying to convince me that Sandra was actually a guy. I told
them that was a bunch of ignorant crap. Some women have them big and most just
don't. Ever since I was in junior high school, I've seen and noticed some
girls and women, some of whom were absolutely gorgeous, with large adam's
apples. Strange but they weren't the only people I've run into criticizing the
appearance of Ms. Bullock's neck.
