When my subscription expired, I chose to resubscribe to Mixxzine. Then I
heard about their new, smaller format and their plans to move Sailormoon
to a different publication. I am really unhappy with Mixx and I want to
cancel my subscription now. I no longer want Mixxzine and I do not want
Smile. Is it possible to cancel my subscription completely and have my
money refunded? As a subscriber, I feel that I was treated unfairly.

Well, first you call up the number for MIXX's customer service
(213-743-2519; no, there is *not* an 800 number for customer service -
just for orders!) and tell them you wish to cancel *and get a refund* of
the unused portion of the subscription. (You'll get 5/6 of your money
back as you do have issue 2-1 which is 1/6 of a years subscription.)
Then let them know *why* you are cancelling your subscription and *why*
you will no longer be a customer. This is important and should not be
forgotten - let them know *why* so they cannot plead ignorance if they
do not change their tune. Then restate that you *do* want your money
back and get any info on how that is to be handled if you so desire.
Then hang up and save your pennies for the Japanese manga and
fan-translations.

Linda V., who is hoping for the entire SM mangas for Christmas and then
has to wrangle the MKR ones for Mother's Day or such.... BTW, The Place
has both the SM manga and the MKR manga in Japanese if you choose to go
this way.

Please let me also recommend Christian Link at
chr...@kdn0.attnet.or.jp for your SM manga needs. He deals in new and
used books and his prices are VERY reasonable. I purchased the entire
18 volume SM set for an unbelievable $2 a book.
