Did you post this on the webboard?

Be prepared for an official, political, TOTAL BULLSHIT answer that has no
value.

Perhaps it will make them rethink their policies, but most likely, they
will intellectualize it as one/a couple angry person and just keep
screwing us over.

A lot of small companies are run by people with minimal business knowledge
that go to some shit business school for 12-18 months to learn predatory
pricing procedures and get-rich quick schemes. Megacorps know better than
to totally fuck over customers. Who are the biggest computer manufactures
in the US? Dell and Gateway, both with legendary customer support. Who
is #1 in ag. tractors in the US? John Deere, with their excellent dealer
and customer support.

But you know what? MIXX has a monopoly. Their products are cheap and
easily accessable. Yes, they cost WAY MORE than their Japanese
equivalents, but at the end of the day, $25-40 a year isn't going to
starve me. I can afford to throw that much away to an overpriced product
with dwindling content. It's not a computer. It's not a $100,000
tractor. It's a magazine, and I'm not enough of a consumer watchdog to
give a shit about being ass-raped for two subscriptions a year. I'm still
going to get it.

Now college textbooks on the other hand .....

Remember kids, nothing cool ever lasts. Everything sucks.

'em and pronbaly will only be made like once or twice a year and cost around
$12 for about 195 pages. a bit expensive.

I couldn't find the post at all on the Mixx board. Maybe they deleted it.
If so, I wonder if I should repost....

Of course, if you live in Canada, it cost $18 for a pocket manga,
which is a ridiculously high price for what little you get. Thanks
for thinking of the customers, guys.

Loyalty is a two way street. Mixx has forgotten who the original
subscribers are, and why they did subscribe. Worse, they announced
changes *in the issue after* subscription renewals came in. This could be
likened to bait-and-switch tactics, very illegal in the US.

Not to mention that some of us here can get the French compilations for
$12-$15 Canadian, same with MKR. We have a choice in some parts of
Canada.

That's going a little overboard, seeing that there is still time to cancel
any subscriptions - which sends a definite message that cannot be ignored.

Heh heh. Times like this I wish I studied a little harder in
French class. ^_^; As it is, I'd need to do a lot of studying in french
before I'd be able to pick one up and read it. ^_^;

It's too subjective. You can't get a bunch of otaku to agree on anything,
really.

The only thing really quantifiable is the removal of Sailor Moon and the
reduction of pages.

They could make the excuse that the pages are being replaced with their
"wicked kewl" editorial content, and that Sailor Moon is still available,
or that Sailor Moon really was NOT their flagship series, and people were
buying it for MKR or something.

They are in a win-win situation, especially with a monopoly on translated
manga.

Now if a more sophisticated company were to get a hold of some other
popular manga series they may be in for some troubles....

I did hear that one of the other major anime magazines, Animarica?, was
working on their own manga compilation because of the apparent success of
Mixxzine.

They're moving X over there (I still say they were stalling because they
didn't want to translate the next few parts...). I'm not sure what the
other one is (if it's been announced).

It's called Animerica Extra. I believe it will have Fushigi Yuugi and Video
Girl Ai and two other manga in it. I believe it comes out in Oct.

Some parts of Canada, which tends to exclude the Prairies ^_^;

Anyone know where I could get MKR in French out here?

So sue me for living near the Quebec border. :)

There's always ordering from Protoculture Addicts. (Now if I could only
find one of the magazines or the flyers from Anime North... ^_^;;)

I'm so darn excited about them translating Video Girl Ai, that I
scanned the advertisment in Previews. Check it out.

Thank you, Phoenix.

BTW, didn't anyone find the line, "America's Best Manga Anthology" a bit
humerous after recent developments at Mixx?
