How did he get to be the one running the Takeuchi forum?
My, my, if only Naoko really read and kept up with Mixxzine:
"she left all of the decisions up to Mr. Levy (since he's her host in
America)"
Then she would not have made such a stupid decision.
Check this out...someone wants to give her a gift...
"But even as I went to give her the gifts, Stu Levy reached out as if to
take them. I jerked them away from him, and gave them to her directly
instead."
What a dork. If that fu....oh wait, I said I'd swear less. Dam....er,
never mind.
"The costumers waited patiently to have pictures taken with Naoko because
we were told that we can take picture together after the panel. But it
never happened."
Guess who is probably to blame for that one?
"Stu pretty much had Naoko on a leash the whole time..."
Does that seem wrong to anyone? One of the most influential people in
manga on a leash controlled by a hack editor who took business classes
from the Larry Storch School of Predatory Pricing?
"..would later irritate fans..."
Oh wait, never mind, he's got the part down perfect.
What a perfect opportunity for Mr. Levy. A feather under his cap,
controls something very valuable for thousands of fans, and still screwing
us over at every opportunity. He even turns a meeting with Naoko Takeuchi
into something half-assed. That's incredible that he could detract from
something that cool.

"It" of course being Stu Levy. He is the new source of all
non-Disney-related evil. If he was just some guy who was a dick during a
convention, I could ALMOST understand being overprotective, like he didn't
want anyone but him to spend time with Naoko.
However after all of the Mixxzine woes, well, this guy has got to go.
You know, I don't think Bill Gates is a bad guy. It's the little guys
like Stu who think they are much bigger than they are that cause problems
for other little guys: regular manga fans.
I read the SOS comic-con report too! And I came off hating Stu
particularly for this stunt. This is just a prime example of what I've been
hearing about how badly he treats fans. Grrr...I'd have done the same thing!

baka! What did he think that fan was, diseased or something? (I think I'll go
order my Sailor Moon manga from The Place and FORGET this creep! :P I can
always go elsewhere for translations.) Sorry Mixx...you just lost a
customer. Angela
B. (Meeka the Cat =^_^= Who thinks she should have started ordering from The
Place AGES ago! If they sell Magic Knights Rayearth manga then I'll never need
to pay Mixx any attention ever again.)

I think they are losing customers anyways. They tell you to
get the pocket manga, so I go into what is easily the largest comic
book store in my area, and there on a shelf was a real japanese manga
(don't ask me what number it was, I forget), but guess what? No
friggen pocket manga, no mixxzine, no nothing! It was easier to buy SM
dolls and toys in that store than anything from Mixx. How in the he**
do those people expect to stay in business like that? My beef with
them for a while is that it's still easier to buy the original manga
than getting the Mixx version. I would still like to get it despite my
personal feelings of being let down after they dropped SM from the
magazine. But if there's no way to buy thier merchandise, I guess I'll
have to buy the original and slug my way through the language to read
it. In any event, unless they come up with some miracle manga that
puts them over the top, I don't think they will be around for much
longer.

I think those guys at The Place are pretty nice. I have bought
some LD's from them and they seem to be pretty reliable and helpful
(somebody even called me at home on a Sunday to tell me an import LD I
ordered had arrived).
