What the hell happened? Yeah, I painted all those little lines on the skirt
myself. On the cover of my KareKano CD, her skirt pattern is a complex plaid.
=\ When I was actually making the costume, my only sources were a couple
fansubs and a settai sheet, in which the pattern had been simplified to a grid
of white lines. *shrug* I guess it looks okay.

Tell me about it. I went for a haircut just before I left for the con. My
favorite stylist had left, so I had a new girl. I told her that I wanted
something LIKE a graduated bob, in that I wanted the front to be longer than
the back, but I didn't want any part of my hair to be shorter than chin-length.
So she started by hacking the hair in back to Haruka-length. O_O Luckily,
she started on the bottom layers first, so the top layers were still long
enough to cover it up. ~_~ I only gave her a tip because she told me where my
previous stylist had gone. But I kinda forgot the name of the other salon.

EPISODE 7 SPOILERS
Jury was not in love with that boy; she was in love with Shiori, but could not
bring herself to reveal her feelings, afraid of how her so-called friend would
react. The fact that Shiori wanted to betray Jury by running off with a boy
that she THOUGHT Jury liked added insult to injury. Not only did Shiori not
realize that she was foremost in Jury's thoughts, she had wanted to break
Jury's heart anyway. So you could say that she broke it twice over.

I never said I liked Shitori; I just kinda like goats, and don't
appreciate the association between the two. ^^; As for your second
question, I think she's pretty neat, but until I see more, the Jury's
still out. ^.-
Until then, I will revel in my ignorance, and throw caution to the wind;
with that as my defence, I feel it would be prudent to join the SDA---if
for no other reason than as a preventative measure. I sense that
otherwise, there is a much greater possibility of my mind being warped
by other "factions" demanding I direct my fandom towards other, lesser
characters. And the probability that the character I am turned to would
be Touga--no matter how small--would never serve to be sufficient
otherwise.

Shiori's fans always whine, "But Shiori can't help being straight!" and "Shiori
never knew that Jury liked her!" and "Jury never liked that guy anyway, so
Shiori had every right to date him!" But even if you overlook Jury's feelings
towards Shiori, you can't overlook the fact that Shiori believed Jury liked
that boy. In reality, Jury's interests lay elsewhere, but Shiori STILL had the
intent to steal her best friend's crush. That's exactly what she thought she
was doing, and she even says that she isn't sorry one bit. Not nice.

Get fansubs, because CPM is still sitting on their hands. Actually, after
attending a couple panels with Ikuhara, I'm starting to wonder whether BePaPas
should be held responsible for the delay instead. Ikuhara wants his series
(which is considered to be a cult series even among the cult of American anime
fans) to get a big studio release. Yeah...THAT's gonna happen real soon.

SHIORI CHARACTER SPOILERS FOR BLACK ROSE ARC
When the locket falls into Shiori's possession, she is totally FREAKED by the
possibility that Jury could have been thinking of her with romantic or sexual
intentions. In her confessional, she starts screaming, "How could you look at
me like THAT?" and "Why did it all turn out this way?" Her unfounded hatred of
Jury stems from her own self-hatred and feelings of inferiority. She always
looked up to Jury, and thought that Jury had befriended her out of pity.
Shiori is delighted to discover that she has control over Jury, but she is
repulsed by the sexual implications of that power. Now she wants to pay Jury
back for all the (TOTALLY imagined and self-inflicted) slights that she
suffered over the years. "How cute. I like that hurt look in your eyes."

But where... one page I checked already dropped it... and I do not know who's
credible... hate to order from someone and CPM has already released the next 2
arcs... and on DVD already to boot before my tape-chans show up.

Let's see...I got my Black Rose tapes from Soyokaze Fansubs and the rest of the
series from a nice AOLer named Elarachan, who is a brand new distributor.
Also, try an AOLer named Sachi999. I think s/he has a website at
members.aol.com/sachi999.
I doubt that CPM will spit out twenty-six episodes in the time it would take to
receive the same fansubbed on six videotapes. Although I thought the Utena
subs were really good, I just couldn't sit on my thumbs and wait more than a
year for the release of new episodes. The fansubs gave me something to watch
in the meantime, before they released another VHS boxed set. But now I'll just
wait for the entire series to come out on DVD.

show. The only scarier show than that I've seen is Cyber Team in
Akihabara, which has a similarish premise--but at least IT doesn't

Most male VAs seem that way to me. I saw a couple dub VAs at Anime
North last year, and they sure seemed to be that type. One of 'em even
made fun of some of the scripts that he'd been forced to voice act for.
