I heard on one of the talk shows yesterday that White House sources said:

"Bush believes he has been called by God to lead the nation through these
difficult times."

I wonder if God told him that many of the difficulties are of his own
making?

Let me see if I've got this straight. An unnamed source on an unnamed talk
show was paraphrased.

Well, we can't be on more solid ground than that, can we?

"Bush believes he was called by God to lead the nation at this time, says
Commerce Secretary Don Evans, a close friend who talks with Bush every day.
His history degree from Yale makes him mindful of the importance of the
moment. He knows he's making ''history-changing decisions,'' Evans says. But
Bush doesn't keep a diary or other personal record of the events that will
form his legacy. Aides take notes, but there's no stenographer in most
meetings, nor are they videotaped or recorded."

Sounds like something that was lifted out of context. I'd have to
see a transcript of the whole interview.

The article, written on September 12 of last year, also makes
considerable mention of the war's needing to happen "before the
November elections", which of course didn't even come close to
happening.

This is not really all that surprising coming from such a "Journal".
A trip to the site's homepage reveals "unbiased" articles with such
titles as "Allies' propaganda distorting the truth", "From Guernica
to Baghdad via Dresden and Hiroshima", "Lies and other market
forces", "Are American elections fixed?", "Daniel Patrick Murderer",
"Counting Iraq's dead civilians", "9/11 was a hoax: The American
government killed its own people"... and the beat goes on.

Even their advertisements... "Liberal/Progressive Sites Are Welcome
On Our Secure & Reliable Server".

Gee whiz, qwerty, thanks awfully for the cite. :-D

He *is* making historic decisions. "The thought of another assault
on the United States horrifies Bush", as well it should.

Something also happened this week but has not been reported. Surprised?
Conan O'Brian mentioned it on his program Wednesday and Bill Maher made
references to it twice in his show on Friday.

Liberals go into panic mode if an American politician talks
to God, but it is OK with Liberals if Islamic nuts say God
told them to blow themselves and a bunch of innocent
people up.

Do Liberals know that in an Islamic run world, their atheism
could get them locked up or worse.

Liberals didn't mind Hillary Clinton channeling Eleanor
Roosevelt, but mention Jesus and Liberals scream...
are Liberals possessed by Satan?

Hillary channels Eleanor Roosevelt:

That'll be FINE Miguel, Godalmighty!!

I'm just sick n' tired of the whole damn thing. I'm glad for the
soldiers, though, that they've had such a clear upper hand with their
training, their technology, and their numbers.

It's their boss I have the problem with though - and the folks in my
church who side with him and go along with the Iraq initiative. And
to hump Sept.11 shamelessly to gain support for the thing? Come on.

They need to seriously evaluate their "Christianity" I think. It says
nowhere in any Bible I've read to go and "make war".

I'm just praying for the troops' swift action and return to America.

Warnings from all directions:

FROM THE LEFT:

"What influence in fact have Christian ecclesiastical establishments
had on civil society? In many instances they have been upholding the
thrones of political tyranny. In no instance have they been seen as the
guardians of the liberties of the people. Rulers who wished to subvert
the public liberty have found in the clergy convenient auxiliaries. A
just government, instituted to secure and perpetuate liberty, does not
need the clergy." --James Madison

FROM THE CENTER:

"The United States of America should have a foundation free from the
influence of clergy." --George Washington

FROM THE RIGHT:

"The religious factions will go on imposing their will on others unless
the decent people connected to them recognize that religion has no place
in public policy. They must learn to make their views known without
trying to make their views the only alternatives." --Barry Goldwater

FROM THE GOD OF THE CHRISTIANS:

"Then he saith unto them, render therefore unto Caesar the things which
are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's." --Jesus Christ,
according to St. Matthew

One of the weaknesses of the Constitution is that while it insulates
religion from government, it does not provide commensurate protections
for government. Organized religions have used this advantage to promote
their agenda in the halls of Congress, the White House, and the Supreme
Court using funds which are tax exempt and for which they need not account.
During the recent pedophile scandals in the Catholic Church, various
high priests of that church had the arrogant temerity to suggest that
the matter was strictly for the Church to handle internally, raising the
spectre of Medieval ecclesiastical courts separate from and
superior to the judicial processes of government.
We would all be better off if priests of all religions would spend more
time attending to the spiritual needs of their flocks and less to politics.

God is a little embarrassed over this whole thing and is spending the
weekend at crawford ranch. He loves horsebackriding and thinks it's funny
to watch george ride like a sissy from Connecticut. God has a great sense
of humor cause bush is a sissy from connecticut.

You know this for a fact? Does God speak to you often?

As Vladimir Putin found out, there are no horses at the ranch.
God will be riding a Ford F-250.

Bush was raised in Texas.
