Some communist somewhere is circulating this old AP newspaper clipping
claiming that the sainted Reagan Administration did that thing that every
political leadership has done since the Dawn of Politics, and frankly it's
insulting to the memory of The Gipper to even suggest his White House would've
offered an ambassadorship or administration job to a Republican facing a
tough GOP primary that could divide the base. Seriously, look at this news
clipping and ask yourself, "Doesn't this font look kind of funny?"

I worked for the Gipper. He WAS corrupt! Slow, fortunatelym to jump to
conclusions.

Nancy stopped sleeping in their bed once Ronnie's slow-leak became
stark and constant incontinence and plastic sheets no longer served

He avoided impeachment over Iran-Contra when a joint session of
Congress was secretly shown film and photos of his White House living
quarters, especially his bedroom and main toilet. Particularly
shocking were pictures of him writhing dazed on the bathroom floor in
his own urine and excrement.
Toward the end of his second term, he reportedly threw his turds
[chimp-like] at visitors he no longer recognized. Sad, indeed.
Congress subsequently gave him a compassionate pass on impeachment,
and Warren Christopher, Nancy, and the staff effectively finished out
his term of office.

Unlike a lot of Limbaugh fans, I never liked Ronald Reagan. I think
he screwed the American people big time in the 1980s, and most of us
never notice.
But -- hey, given the man a break. He had ALZHEIMER'S disease, and he
was an ex-movie actor.
I think he genuinely didn't know what he was doing half the time.
Calling him "corrupt" is stupid, IMO. But if you're president of the
United States, you don't have to be a actual "crook" to be a bad
leader.
You can just be out of touch with reality. And Reagan, with the
Alzheimer's that nobody recognized, was plenty out touch with reality.
That's probably one reason why he quadrupled the national debt in 8
years.
AND why he sent Donald Rumsfeld to Iraq to make friends with Saddam
Hussein, then allowed the Commerce Department to approve sales of US
military helicopters as well as ANTHRAX and other germ warfare agents
to the Iraqi government.
It was Alzheimers & terrible judgement, I think -- NOT corruption --
that led the United States under the Reagan administration to provide
military aid and financial aid to "radical Islamist jihadists" in
Afghanistan, including some aid that probably went to Osama bin Laden.
Personally, I think that Reagan was consciously lying his head off
when he opposed the radical Sandinista government in Nicaragua on the
grounds that he wanted to protect "democracy" in Central America.
The fact is that the United States from 1903 through 1992 NEVER
supported real democracy in Central America.
But with his brain addled by Alzheimer's, and his memory packed with
old movie scripts, Reagan may have THOUGHT he was protecting democracy
down there.
Calling him "corrupt" when he was probably just delusional is really
unfair.

What's the point of this kind of sarcasm?
It seems like preaching to the converted, and virtually guaranteed to
offend everyone else.
Personally, I think Reagan was a terrible president, and almost
everything he said about foreign policy or the deficit/debt situation
was wrong.
But why offend Reagan lovers by either accusing him or corruption or
fantasizing about him throwing shit at his White House visitors?
This is schoolboy humor. It you're going to say bad things about
Reagan -- and I think he deserves them -- why not write something for
adults?

There's always a little corruption in politics. Overall though
they're just human beings trying to support their country. I
recommend you read conservative journalism. they pain a better
picture.
