Catholic Church Now Engaging In Blackmail!!!!!??

or JUST CONTINUING THE PRACTICE?????

If the Church loses its tax exempt status, perhaps other religions
and
social groups will increase their charitable ventures. Perhaps
Father
Divine could do an even better job. I notice, in Philadelphia, that
old places of worship are being converted into temples and mosques
and
that Catholic schools and Churches are being closed. Hopefully, this
kind of blackmail will fail and people will be set free to be who
they
are.

Is the church cutting its nose to spite its face????

Of course they're closing some churches. The demographics have
changed. The Catholic churches are expanding into the outlying areas
as neighborhoods change complexion.

We hear Tim Geithner asked you to do his taxes for him this year. It makes
sense - a "tax cheat" asking a "tax fraud" for help.

BLACKMAIL is when a church threatens to stop administering to those in
dire and whom they deign to help!!! BLACKMAIL is the threat of
excommunicaton of our lawmakers, and citizens of this country, unless
they support the mandates of their church. Denying the rights of
citizens, due to this kind of BLACKMAIL, should be rewarded with the
imposition of laws which would deny tax free status to those who
insist on such practices. (MNSVHO)

I commented only on why the Church is leaving old buildings behind,
which it's doing due to changing neighborhoods. This is the same
igorant contention made on TV by another liberal igoramus, Phil
Donohue. Your contentions of church conspiracies, etc., make no
sense. You're either a Catholic-hating bigot, or a person who just
likes to taunt, or one who is NUTZ. Based on your posting history, I
choose the latter.

Actually, to use the law to force a church to violate its basic beliefs
is true blackmail.

How do you make a case that anyone is being FORCED to violate a basic
belief??? Do you recall, just recently, that a preacher/JP would not
marry a couple of mixed color people because he didn't believe in such
marriages??? He lost his license, justifiably imnsvho.
Not too many years ago, such unions would be brought to violent ends
by those who believed them to be a travesty. It took a long time for
us to come to a place where we are in the recognition of these
unions. At any rate, the preacher may retain his belief but he can no
longer practice it on people who are free and have the rights which
were not always available to them. That he chooses to deny others, he
is no longer allowed to practice. Do you think this to be
BLACKMAIL??? Restaurants, restrooms, trains, etc., not too long ago,
denied access to others because they BELIEVED it right to do so!!!
The constituition no longer allows for that!! Do you consider it
BLACKMAIL that the rights of others, are protected!!

No one has to perform an abortion!!! No one has to be something they
are not!!! Civil rights are what are in demand!!! Protecting the
rights of ALL, not just those who are motivated by beliefs in a
variety of cults, is the objective of free men who do not have the
same belief systems as others. We are all free to BELIEVE or NOT TO
BELIEVE. The problem with so many religious leaders (political too)
is that they do not practice what they preach. Without going into the
history (I'm sure you can find many examples) what they would impose
on others are impositions by which they, themselves. do not abide. A
basic belief is that one should spread the gospel. There are many
gospels which may be interpreted in a variety of ways. My idea of how
religionists should spread their gospel is that they practice it, live
by example, and let others live in peace.

Great news: marriage equality has just passed in Washington, D.C.!

But before you start celebrating, I wanted to make sure you'd heard
about this: in a blatantly political move to prevent this vote, the
Catholic Archdiocese of Washington last month threatened to cut social
service programs it runs if the bill passed.

I'm not making this up. They'd cut homeless shelters, food programs
for needy families, and health services rather than provide equal
benefits for employees in same-sex marriages. And now that the bill
has passed, supporters of marriage equality are rallying together to
make sure they don't follow through on their threat.

Tell Archbishop Wuerl not to play politics with poor people - join me
in asking him to continue Catholic Charities' city-supported social
services: https://secure3.convio.net/hrc/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=OnScreenThanks&id=637

Of course they'd cut those benefits. It's entirely against same sex
marriages and yet you expect it (the Church) to provide benefits to
those who practice it. A religion which works against itself as such
has no principles. Maybe now you'll condemn Joe Lieberman for holding
up a session of the Senate because he took the time to walk, rather
than ride, to it, being that he's an Orthodox Jew and it was the
Sabbath. Fisher, you are indeed NUTZ.

There are plenty of reasons to despise Lieberman. As with Bishops and
other religionists, I don't give two hoots about their religiious
practices as long as they don't try to impose them on me with the
support of taxes imposed on me and mine. That they follow the
dictates of Rome or Israel to the extent it interferss with the
policies/politics of this once greater nation, I object!!!

Frankly, I'd like to see the government take over these programs to
feed the poor and shelter the homeless. It would be much cheaper, in
the long run, and support would be given directly to the poor and
homeless instead of having to go through charities which mainly
support those who run these charities more for their own welfare than
that to would be/should be recipients.

This is a Chrisiian country, founded by Christians, with at least 80%

think thart it should change its values and traditions for a small
minority of Jews, Mooselums and atheists or whatver. Why don't you
fuckers get the hell out of here and go elsewhere where you could do

The Constitution
(transcript)
The 1787 constitution is a nearly godless document. It mentions
neither God, nor Christianity outside of a reference to the date using
the Christian calandar. It does however have a provision against
requiring specific religious ideas as a qualification for office.

Article VI, Section 3, US Constitution

"...no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any
office or public trust under the United States."

Article. VII, US Constitution

"Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and Eighty seven"

It certainly can be argued that this sentence sets up The United
States under 'our Lord' Jesus Christ, but when viewed in context it
takes on a much lesser importance. The sentence is in the last section
of the fourth and final page of the Constitution and was a common way
of referencing the Christian calendar. 'In the year of our Lord'
translated to latin is 'Anno Domini' which is commonly abbreviated
'A.D.' and is still used to this day by most of the western world when
stating the year. It is merely a tradition and holds no religious
significance. (more)

First Amendment to the Constitution
If the United States were set up as a Christian Nation would it grant
equal rights to all religions?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of
speech, or of the press..."

Treaty of Tripoli, article 11
A 1797 treaty between the United States of America and the Bey and
Subjects of Tripoli of Barbary, ratified by the US Congress and signed
by President John Adams. (more)

"As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense
founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of
enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen..."

None of the above has anything to do with Christianiy shoving anything
down your throat. Most of the founders of this great country were
Christians and most assuredly they did not intend to have Christian
baiters tear at the religion the way miscreants such as ourself has
done. Nobody is forcing you to go to a church and worship Jeus
Christ, nor is anybody forcing you to adhere to any rites. You're
free to do as you please. But the principles of a democracy are now
what they have always been: that is, the majority rules with minority
rights. If you don't like what Christians are doing, thn turn your
head. Better yet, just get the fuck out of here. Go to a country
where irreligious twits like yourself can mentally masturbate over
your rights. That would do eerybody a big favor. They should make a
rule: Get all nonChristians who don't like the way it is here and
deport you scumbags. I don't know where that someplace could b, since
malcontents like yourself would complain about something no matter
where you hang your hat. Maybe the rack or strappado would straighten
you out. You'd come to appreciate what you have with a dose of that
kind of treatment.

It merely points out, my friend, that THIS IS NOT A CHRISTIAN
COUNTRY!!! I notice lately that many churches and synagogues are
closing down and being reopened as temples and mosques of other
faiths. I really don't care what any person, of any faith, believes.
I won't interfere with them as long as they respect my right not to be
interfered with by them!!!

There are many people of faith whom I admire!!! I thought a great
deal of John Paul and Mother Theresa (the doubter). The only reason
she held on to the faith was that it was her vehicle for accomplishing
so much good. Good PEOPLE no matter what they believe are GOOD
PEOPLE!!! They help others, imposing no restrictions upon them. Many
of the religious nuts in this country are just that (NUTS) and need to
be exposed for their ill defined ways.

Nope, I don't hate Jews. I know and admire many of them. I just hold
disdain for anybody, like yourself, who detests Christian. Just
yanking your chain right now. Don't like it? And, puhleeze, don't YOU
pray for me.

Catholic Church Now Engaging In Blackmail!!!!!??

or JUST CONTINUING THE PRACTICE?????

http://www.rhrealitycheck.org/blog/2009/12/08/cahtolic-church-threate...

There's no sense in trying to even answer such stupid contentions.

We hear Tim Geithner asked you to do his taxes for him this year. It
makes
sense - a "tax cheat" asking a "tax fraud" for help.

BLACKMAIL is when a church threatens to stop administering to those

in
dire and whom they deign to help!!!

Actually, to use the law to force a church to violate its basic
beliefs
is true blackmail.

Great news: marriage equality has just passed in Washington, D.C.!

But before you start celebrating, I wanted to make sure you'd heard
about this: in a blatantly political move to prevent this vote, the
Catholic Archdiocese of Washington last month threatened to cut
social
service programs it runs if the bill passed.

I'm not making this up. They'd cut homeless shelters, food programs
for needy families, and health services rather than provide equal
benefits for employees in same-sex marriages. And now that the bill
has passed, supporters of marriage equality are rallying together to
make sure they don't follow through on their threat.

Tell Archbishop Wuerl not to play politics with poor people - join me
in asking him to continue Catholic Charities' city-supported social
services: https://secure3.convio.net/hrc/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=OnScree...

It merely points out, my friend, that THIS IS NOT A CHRISTIAN

COUNTRY!!! I notice lately that many churches and synagogues are
closing down and being reopened as temples and mosques of other
faiths. I really don't care what any person, of any faith, believes.
I won't interfere with them as long as they respect my right not to
be
interfered with by them!!!

There are many people of faith whom I admire!!! I thought a great
deal of John Paul and Mother Theresa (the doubter). The only reason
she held on to the faith was that it was her vehicle for
accomplishing
so much good. Good PEOPLE no matter what they believe are GOOD
PEOPLE!!! They help others, imposing no restrictions upon them.
Many
of the religious nuts in this country are just that (NUTS) and need
to
be exposed for their ill defined ways.

Don't prey on others and you won't need my prayers!!! Continue on
in your apparent non-Christian ways, and you may have less for which
to repent. I believe that God answers my prayers. I'm not so sure

Blackmailers and extortionists - The Catholic Bishops influence, and
Right Wing Politicians, manage to subvert a woman's right to
choose!!! Perverts galore manage to have their way, amongst
Democrats, because of Nelson and a handful of blue dog Democrats

Of course, the fight ain't over but, if Congress tries to introduce
anything to which Nelson disagrees, he still holds millions who need
health care hostage because of his particular beliefs. Apparently, he
thinks if more noble to let 45,000 die, each year, because they don't
have health insurnce than to allow for a woman's right to choose!!!
I wonder if he wouldn't think it proper that a woman be stoned to
death if she made a choice with which he didn't agree?? After all,
their followers sure don't mind murdering doctors who help women
exercise their right. Given more power, to what extremes will they
carry their hatreds????

"I expect political hardball on any legislation as important as the
health care bill.

I just didn’t expect it from the United States Council of Catholic
Bishops (USCCB).

Who elected them to Congress?

The role the bishops played in the pushing the Stupak amendment, which
unfairly restricts access for low-income women to insurance coverage
for abortions, was more than mere advocacy.

They seemed to dictate the finer points of the amendment, and managed
to bully members of Congress to vote for added restrictions on a
perfectly legal surgical procedure.

And this political effort was subsidized by taxpayers, since the
Council enjoys tax-exempt status.

When I visit churches in my district, we are very careful to keep
everything “non-political” to protect their tax-exempt status.

The IRS is less restrictive about church involvement in efforts to
influence legislation than it is about involvement in campaigns and
elections.

Given the political behavior of USCCB in this case, maybe it shouldn’t
be."

Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif.) is co-chair of the Congressional
Progressive Caucus.

Big deal, horses's ass John Fisher posts bullshit. Entire books are
written about Democrats' corruptions. Try reading Michelle Malkim's
book "Culture of Corruption." You're such a hopeless
asshole.......dumber than shit. Did your mother have any kids that
were normal? Go get a brain, asswipe.

The notion that Fisher has a brain is grim

The light in his eyes is very dim

When he utters a peep

People go to sleep

It's obvious his head is just a useless limb

my time listening to a mentally disturbed person!!! If I did that, I
wouldn't be able to give you as much time as you've gotten!!:=) At
the moment, special attention to your needs is more compelling!!-:)

John, you are a worthless piece of waste matter. You bitch about
matters that only a radical leftist can conjure up. You really should
move. Get out of the country. Seriously. Go someplace where your
ideas are welcome. I'm not sure where that would be, perhaps
Copenhagen would be the spot. Go where nutcases like you can spawn
heir crap. Just GO!!! All your kind is doing is fomenting the
tempers of the majority of the people who may believe that the
freedoms extended to radical leftists has perhaps been excessive; that
anymore our country is being run by radical minorities and not by the
will of the majority. Dancing around the constitution and obfuscating
its obvious intentions has been carried to the extreme. People in
general are getting pissed. Current gun sales alone, in spite of a
curtailed economy, tell a very serious story. I'm afraid for this
country and it's jokers like yourself who are provoking matters that
might lead to thngs getting out of hand. Things are getting seriously
scary. So take the lead, John, get the fuck out.
