No, I'm right. You don't know what socialism is; I do. Subsidies and
other transfer payments are not socialism. Thinking and educated people
know this. Now we know why you don't.

Nope. I'm right - again and as always. Subsidies and transfer payments
are not socialism - they are social welfare. This is settled.

This will be like a 2 week vacation I've taken vacations where I didn't
get paid for the two weeks I was gone.

NO need to get too excited over it. Yes some peopl ethat don't save
money will harmed but they can try to catch up later and if the solution
is to give them a tax break then it isn't Socialism it's Capitalism
because Capitalism would allow you to keep more of the money you earned
for times like this rather than steal like the Socialists do.

That's not socialism. Socialism is public control of the means of
production (or perhaps services).

What I still don't get is why Bernie Sanders calls himself a socialist
when his only policy that is socialist is Medicare For All (end of
private health insurance). Given that socialism is unpopular in the
USA, and Bernie's policies are generally popular, why does he insist on
torpedoing his chances by labeling himself something so unpopular?

Stop with the simple-minded definitions! It *is* socialism.
Using public money to prop up industry *is* socialism.
It's central planning.

It sure as hell isn't capitalism.

Even that isn't socialism, because he isn't proposing a government-run
health service, like the UK. He's proposing government *financing* of
health care, not government provision. What it is, is another massive
welfare program. It is not socialism.

Bailouts are not socialism (public ownership) or central planning
(public determination of supply and prices). Bailouts are the rescuing
of capitalism.

Medicare For All, which Canada has, is socialism because it nationalizes
the health insurance industry. I do however agree the UK's National
Health Insurance goes even farther by nationalizing health-care
providers and delivery.

Socialism is stealing money that you didn't earn yourself, NOT giving it
back to the person who you stole it from.... SO the Socialism was
stealing the money from the workers in the first place and calling it a
tax, but returning it to the person is Capitalism and knowing it was
wrong to steal the money from the person that had to give their own
blood, sweat and tears to earn it in the first place so it's theirs and
never was yours....

That was my point about Bernie. He calls himself a socialist even
though he isn't, and in doing so he makes himself unpopular. Warren has
many of the same policies but doesn't call herself a socialist.

So the question is, does Biden pick Warren because she'll appeal to
Sanders's base and get them out to vote, even though if she becomes
president it will be a catastrohe? Or does he pick Klobuchar, a

The basic structure of the economy remains, of course, capitalist:
private enterprise operating in a market economy - just with a big
infusion of public money, but no change in ownership or management.

It's not socialism. This is settled.

Giving someone back their own money that was stolen by a tax is NOT
Socialism. They earned the money that was taken from them so giving it
back isn't an act of kindness.

Giving someone back what they already own is justice.

I like Stacey Abrams. Although she has limited experience, she will

believe she is not like Warren or Sanders, but I think she can
nonetheless help get those people to vote.

Back during the Depression c.1932 there was a movement underway to give each
American $300 (about $5,000 in today's money) in order to stimulate the
economy. FDR scotched the idea after he was elected...
