Obama flips off the people of Washington State.............DEA cracks
down on 11 pot dispensaries

Cease-and-desist letters were sent to eleven Seattle area pot
dispensaries because they are within 1,000 feet of schools or other
prohibited areas, according to the federal Drug Enforcement
Administration.

The DEA would not identify the businesses or their precise locations.
Spokeswoman Jodie Underwood said they are in the greater Seattle area.

Despite Washington state’s new legal recreational pot law, enacted by
voter-approved Initiative 502, all forms of marijuana remain illegal
under federal law. A policy statement from the Obama administration is
supposedly coming on the new legal pot laws in Colorado and
Washington.

Underwood said the 11 dispensaries received the same letters that went
to 23 local dispensaries last August. She said the letters, dated
April 29, did not have implications for Washington and Colorado’s new
laws.

“DEA enforces federal drug laws and these letters have nothing to do
with any pending legislation or state law. The ballot initiatives in
both states are under review by DOJ,” she said.

The letters warned dispensary operators and landlords that the pot
businesses appear to be within 1,000 feet of a prohibited area, which
tend to be places such as schools and playgrounds frequented by youth.
The DEA told recipients of the letter to stop distributing marijuana
within 30 days or face property seizure and forfeiture.

“As we continue to identify locations, additional letters will be sent
out,” Underwood said.

The DEA sent letters to 63 dispensaries in Orange County, California
last week. But a Department of Justice spokesman and California
marijuana activists saw those actions as part of a continuing
crackdown in Orange County rather than a signal of new federal policy
in Colorado and Washington.

Last week a DOJ spokeswoman in Washington, D.C. responded to questions
about legal pot with a terse statement: “The legalization initiatives
in Washington and Colorado are still under review by the Department.”

I'm not going to condone driving under the influence of marijuana, but
those who have never smoked it believe it causes the same physical and
mental impairment as alcohol, which is not true. Perhaps the most
appealing thing about pot is that it is NOT impairing, creating a
pleasant sensation in the head without causing a staggering stupor like
booze. Still, I agree that the condition of legalization should set
maximum drug levels in the blood for drivers, just like alcohol.

If driving under the influence of marijuana should be illegal, so should
driving under the influence of tobacco. Tobaccoheads resent any
suggestion that their drug of choice is really a "drug," but even the
most pathetic crack addict could not possibly consume up to 40 crack
rocks a day. Obvious, tobacco users experience some kind of mind-
altering effects from nicotine, or they would not be using it every
twenty minutes! I should add that my 'tarded chain-smoking fool of a
brother wrecked his car as he was lighting a tobacco cigarette.

private schools and churches. If there are any within 500 feet of
your business, they will be notified and have the chance to support
or object to your application.

Note: State law provides that public schools within 500 feet of the
premises may veto a license. The WSLCB will take all protest and
support letters into consideration when making a decision to approve
or deny a license.

Seem to be highly selective for OBOBO. Let him allow my State and
California to enforce their own laws and let him clean up his
Administration so we have no more scandals.

BTW the new laws don't go into effect until September. About 40 pages
of them. Seattle city council is making areas where they can
operate.

Then again OBOBO might select what laws to enforce near the next
election he is good at not enforcing laws for votes.

Personally I like what he is doing many liberal are quite upset with

Then again like I said I have no problem with MY State going after
these people. BTW why is Obama wasting money on this? He could use
the money to hire more firefighters. Last I heard he we have 500 less
for those wildfires because of lack of funds. How many homes will
burn and people killed for votes for you liberals. Put the money we
have to where it is needed.
