Yeah, I was cutting some limbs with a poll saw and one came down and broke
my hand in a way that is know as a "boxer's fracture" according to my
orthopedic surgeon. I didn't realize that it was broken until it had mended
to the point it couldn't be reset, and after the swelling went down I
realized what the doctor was talking about with a crooked pinkie that folds
under my other fingers when I make a fist.

The good news? The doctor told me that he sees this fairy often and can fix
it with outpatient surgery.

The kicker? He also said that the procedure is not even available in England
anymore under socialized medicine.

Thanks god for America. I'm gonna get this thing fixed before Hussein and
his henchmen ruin healthcare here.

I'm sure they know what the treatment is, Einstein, but I see nothing there
about it's avlibilty. We all know that they have rationing in the U.K., and
this would be considered minor on the availability scale you can be sure.

It's rather like we know how to put in a pacemaker here, but under
Husseincare you get a pill.

do health care reform. You know, the one he threatened to veto because it

The only principle Republicans have is to be against anything a Democrat

You know that's not true. All kinds of procedures we take for granted here
take a back seat under socialized medicine and rationing. Why do you lie?

PROOF:

Those who tout the creation of a single-payer health care system in the
United States point to the system in Canada as the model for one that would
be fair and available to all. Unfortunately not everyone in Canada shares
that opinion.
It seems that Danny Williams, the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, is
coming to the United States for life-saving heart surgery. The spectacle of
a prominent Canadian politician, a stout defender of the government-run
health care system in Canada, opting out of that same system is rather too
glaring not to notice.

Danny Williams is not the first Canadian to notice that reliance on the
Canadian health care system is hazardous to one's health. Canada is said by
people of a cynical bent to have a two-tier system, the Canadian Medicare
system and the United States. Canadians of means, faced with
life-threatening conditions that their health care system cannot address in
a timely fashion, opt to travel to the United States and pay out-of-pocket
for such things as heart operations and cancer treatments.

The bureaucrats who run the Canadian health care system have noticed that
American hospitals can conduct life savings procedures in a timely fashion.
The Detroit Free Press ran a story several months ago how some Detroit
hospitals are taking Canadian patients and are being reimbursed by the
Canadian Medicare system.

Americans are usually accustomed to having their jobs outsourced to other
countries. Only in this case Canada is outsourcing its health care system to
the United States, taking advantage of the relative free market aspects of
American health care to try to deal with the long wait times that entrap
Canadian patients with life-threatening conditions.

A healthcare system where your health is held in common and not
individually, and your healthcare is rationed by a political hierarchy.
Decisions are made collectively by individuals in positions of authority
that make decisions in the name of the collective group. Regardless of the
picture painted of socialism by its proponents, it ultimately removes group
decision making in favor of the choices of one all-important individual.

Poor dumb Jamieson REALLY wants his free health care...

Here's another stupid claim from Zepp about the
Constitution.

"Incidently, the fact that the Constitution
specifies that people have right to vote in a
presidential election pretty much takes the choice of
having [a presidential election] out of the hands of
the states."
--David B.(Zepp) Jamieson Sun, Sep 3 2006
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.society.liberalism/msg/efb4fcac7b1561cb?hl=en&

...

>Canyon note> Today, Electors are chosen by popular
election, but the Constitution does not mandate a
popular election. The 14th Amendment does mention the
choosing of Electors, but is relevant only when
Electors are elected by popular vote. There is
similar mention in the 24th Amendment. In other
words, Electors could be appointed by a state's
legislature, or the legislature could empower the
governor to choose electors. In some cases, state
law allows for such appointments if the popular
vote cannot be used to determine a winner, such
as if election results are contested up to
federally-mandated deadlines.

That's the point, doofus. Hot dogs are not made of puppies just because they
have the word "dog" in them, just like Nazis are not socialists just because
they have the word "socialist" in their name.

Hey, suppose you point out for me how the healthcare reform bill is racist or

No, what I've figured out is the we have the best healthcare in the world
and could further improved with more market forces, while people in Canada
have to travel here for the best and latest procedures and if you break your
hand in the UK you're shit out of luck.

Thank your lucky stars that you live as close to the US as you do.

Nope, with private insurance a third party pays and the consumer has little
incentive to shop price. Same with Medicare and Medicaid. That's why costs
are so high. Your answer as always is to do more of what caused the problem
while ours is to introduce more market forces via medical savings accounts
and interstate competition.

But you have no interest in what causes the problem or what would help
alleviate it. The nanny state is your god and that relationship can no more
be shaken than with a religious fundamentalist.

Health insurance corporations sure do, because they have to know what procedure
they're paying for, doofus. How do you think they make the decision as to
which procedures are covered and which ones aren't, hey? Do you think a
doctor can just bill an insurance company and not tell them for what because
of "patient doctor confidentiality?"

I never said it was, just that it was the first priority.

Yes, because it's much less profitable to insure individuals than a whole

You mean the third world countries? You want the USA to become a third world
country? And what liberals are currently in power? About the only liberals
I can think of are Bernie Sanders and Dennis Kucinich. All the rest are
center-right capitalists. They just seem liberal to you because the Republican
party is about as far right as Attila the Hun. No true liberal has any real

More accurately community ownership of the means of production, but yes.

Not even close.

Fascism is anti-anarchist, anti-communist, anti-conservative, anti-democratic,
anti-individualist, anti-liberal, anti-parliamentary, anti-bourgeois and
anti-proletarian.[15] It entails a distinctive type of anti-capitalism and is
typically, with a few exceptions, anti-clerical.[16][17] Fascism rejects
egalitarianism, materialism, and rationalism in favour of action, discipline,
hierarchy, spirit and will.[18]

Insurance corporations have lists of covered and un-covered procedures
and conditions that influence a doctor's decision to treat. Doctor's
will usually not treat uncovered, non-life-threatening conditions. Or
they may refer to a govt subsidized county hospital or free climic.

Some health care companies push for admissions or certain procedures.

Wellpoint BCBS, f ex, has documented increased referrals by doctors for
imaging that corporate owners push for to pay for new equipment or
generate profits.

Still mindlessly repeating that silly lie, Eddie?

Fact is, far more Americans try to sneak into Canada for health care and
medications than Canadians come to the US.

Unlike the US, the vast majority of Canadians like their medical system.
They live longer, they live healthier, and their babies don't die the way
Americans do.

They also have what Sarah Palin would call "death panels". They have a
triage list, which is reasonable and proper. A 96 year old with dementia
and lung cancer isn't a good candidate to receive a donor heart. But
their decisions are routinely challenged by patients and treating
physicians alike (they tend to be overzealous in refusing treatment in
order to save money. It's cheaper to fight a patient who will only live
a month without the treatment than it is to provide the treatment).
Nearly all contested decisions go before a arbitration panel PICKED BY
THE INSURANCE COMPANY. If you read the fine print, you find you
authorized this and simultaneously signed away your right to sue in
court.

Not surprisingly, insurance companies win over 98% of the decisions
rendered by these death panels. The only real surprise is that they ever
lose ANY, with the game rigged that badly.
