The Republicans are faced with one very nasty reality; the
demographics of our United State are changing. It is becoming much
more ethical and socially diverse. The breakdown in who voted in the
election shows that.
I read that one Republican commentary said that Iowa would go Red
because the ballot to rescind marriage equaity (it failed) in the
state would being out more Christian evangelicals. Perhaps it did,
but it seemed also to draw even *more* Obama voters out who then voted
to support same-sex marriage.
I think the Big Problem the Republican Party races, if it wants to
survive at all, is its racists members, many who are Tea Party
members. They *are* the ones who the Republicaty Party as a whole
*must* get rid of. They cannot pander to them any more. The anti-
immigration stand the Party and its candidates took as a whole helped
fuck them over in trying to win the Presidental races with the Latino
vote -- and they are rapidly gaining power as one of the largest
voting blocks in the USA.
I even read that due to their increasing number as voters, Texas could
go Blue by 2020. The Republicans need to get rid of their racist
members.
And, of course, one only has to look at alt.politics to see GOP's
problem: look at the far-right Repubican posters here who casually
use words like "nigger", "beaner", and "chink". THESE *are* the
people the Republican Party needs to dump if they want to exist as a
Party that has a chance to win national elections.
During the next 4 years, the Republicans *must* support Immigration
Reform, such as the Dream Act, if they want to have any chance to win
in 2016. For the GOP, this can't a question of idelology, but instead
the acceptance of reality.

I think what is going to happen among the Republicans themselves -- if
they can accept the facts, which is often questionable -- is going to
get nasty and might turn into an internal blood bath for them. I
expect, if the Republicans want a real chance to win the 2016
presidentcy we'll start seeing changes happening by 2014. If not...

And the finacal cliff ahead of our nation. A cliff that was *created*
by the Republicans when they refused to compromise with Obama years
ago. Already you can see a clue that Republican leaders realized how
they back themselves into a corner by saying they are willing to
compromise now with Obama and the Democrats.
It's a small step but if the GOP's leaders and officals don't, they
are going to badly hurt our nation even further than their foot-
dragging has already done over the last 4 years.

Patriot Gages/Buster/Bob Milby Jr. just crapped in his pants as
Florida went Blue for Obama a 2nd time!
