RIP. He passed away a few months ago. Several years ago, he headed
the New Paul Whiteman Orchestra in a concert at the Keswick Theatre
near Philadelphia. It was the greatest concert I ever attended (and
I saw Guy Lombardo live at the World's Fair!). I really felt like I'd
stepped back in time and was watching the real Whiteman. He opened
with "Back in Your Old Backyard." A great performance.
