Reward offered in death of duct-taped puppy

The dead dog was found wrapped in duct tape in the lot next…
A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to whoever
encapsulated a pit bull-mix puppy in duct tape and abandoned it in a lot
next to a Catholic school in Kensington.
The Pennsylvania SPCA said its officers responded to an anonymous tip
Tuesday and found the dog in the lot next to the Ascension of Our Lord
Church and School on the 700 block of East Westmoreland Street.
A necropsy later determined the animal had multiple health problems and
suffered from a lack of medical care, the SPCA said. It was inconclusive
as to whether the puppy was still alive when it was taped up.
"This is a bizarre and extremely disturbing case of animal cruelty, and
no animal should have to suffer this way," George Bengal, director of
law enforcement for the Pennsylvania SPCA, said in a statement.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Pennsylvania SPCA hotline
at
1-866-601-7722.
