I remember a while back, someone posted some links to some awesome surreal
art. I'm not sure if it was here or on the Maybe Logic Academy forums, but
nobody on those forums seems to know what I'm talking about. I coulda swore
one of the guys' names was Robert Wilson or something similar and his stuff
was kinda cyberpunkish...another guy had a painting titled
"illuminati"...any of you have ANY idea what I'm talking about? Or am I
imagining things?

Well remembered, Bandito. My links to sites with Robert Williams
paintings no longer work. Here's a quote from a quick search:

"Robert Williams' paintings are so wildly psychedelic that Timothy
Leary had several of his paintings hanging in his living room. Williams
told me that his work was "tremendously" influenced by psychedelics,
and it certainly shows. Prior to his psychedelic transformation
Williams was hot rod illustrator who worked with Ed Big Daddy "Ratfink"
Roth. He became well known for the contributions that he made to Zap
and other underground comics during the late sixties, and his books
Zombie Mystery Paintings, Visual Addiction, and Twisted Libido have all
become cult classics." http://www.levity.com/mavericks/visual.htm

A book called "Pop Surrealism" covers some of this area of "lowbrow"
art. Check out the following gallery site - it has a lot of examples of
art when you follow "past shows" links. Nice site too:
