Having managed to retrieve my older newsgroup records, (lost when I
moved to Demon Broadband), I came across this set.[1]

Note the dates and times.

There we go, proves SOMEthing I suppose, if only that as a friend of
the family up in the Black Isle used to say,

"There's no three ways about it."

John.

P.S. It's good to be back ! [2]

[2] Assuming that this missive actually arrives that is.

There are always 3 suggestions and one of them is always wrong!

Good to see you back John, seems to be a resurgence in returnees lately,
don't know why.

Eeek! That's two months after I started lurking here, and two and a half
months before my first post!

Thanks Gary, and belated congrats on the sucess of your fund raising
efforts.

It IS good to be back. Now I can (re)join in the general silliness and
insert a modicum of, IM(ns)HO, measured sanity as appropriate.[2]

The sun is setting interestingly over the Highlands as seen from my NW
window. [3]

John.

[1] Hangover from dial-up days [4]
[2] Or not.
[3] New thread suggested, probably only 1 post involved.
[4] Still a good habit IMHO.

Not been to the Highlands since Elgin Floods - wasn't fun except for the
fight in the Horseshoe bar in Glasgow on the way back.

After a week of wading waist deep in water a few Glasgae wannabe hardmen
were a minor amusement[1] when they heard English accents, the real
hard-men (a difference you may know) bought a few beers for us when they
heard what we'd been doing.

My landlord wanders off to the Shetlands every year and brings back
proper fudge of the "Sheep Dip Whiskey" variety - possibly made with
Granny Achings "Special Sheep Liniment".

I just hope he doesn't fall off a mountain 'cos I'll have to find
somewhere else to live.
