friday night pre meet
I was on IRC and Uzi was also online and I happened to ask if she
and gid were going to Bristol for the meet almost at the same time
Suzi was asking me the same question and hence I got a lift from home
to the meet...

Saturday

/me had to go to work :(
but thankfully 'twas delt with early and I could go home and pack a
few bits in time to get to Sainsburys for a pick up with Gid and
Suzi. whilst waiting I got some beer and G&B white chocolate buttons
to add to the Maya gold I had in the bag :)[2]

my lift was late but that is of no consequence and we arrived chez Meg
about .50 to find most people already there. beer was drank and tails
large and small swapped including MEG's recipe for egg boiling[3] a
good time was had by all till quite late where upon we all
found places to sleep .....

Sunday

up a dawns crack..nah( 10.15)

the tribe went to Sainsburys for food.

the day was filled with beer drinking from almost 12 am... even if
gid had to find a harvester pub to drink(may he recover soon...) we
sat around chewing the cud till quite late. James recounted the tail
of his missing toe. /me is glad that I don't have that good an
imagination. Gidion appeared in the back garden with a nurf gnu that
would be described as a gating nurf... several including YHN took
turns to have a go wit it. resulting in one dead glass door ( as it
enabled others to video the firing in a safe place)

Meg started the BBQ and cooked a wonderful spread. (/me will say my
thanks here)

all foddered up we proceeded to the quiz... since some present were
non Pratchett fans it was a music quiz which Adrian won IIRRC.
Melusine got third place... but second escapes me

Graham and James depart as dose Bernard( I would recommend anyone to
get one of his module procrastinators) chat continues till quite
late when Martin and Sandrina have to depart :(
several guests stay up till near 2 having a gas watching a
brains....[4]

Gid plays Gutter and we enjoy a sing along with Rocky on keyboard
mainly Simon and garfunkul(get an easier to spell name please) also
Jonathan played some classical bits that I enjoyed.

Monday

we got up in drips and drabs t discover the downstairs WC light fuse
had blown[4] we waited till Gid surfaced so the trip switch could be
reset.

Megs percents turned up and hung round for a while, various people
drifted off to parts of the UK sadly the meet drew to a close.

x-disclaimer this is not definitive its just a taster... if you
want to know what its really like go to the next one

x raffle we raised over 50 UKP for the orang-utan foundation. ( my
pet charity btw)

dp missing out a hell ova lot but wtf

[1] one of the nicest persons I've met.
[2] its a meet there has to be chocolate..... that and Uzi loves
white chocolate helps to keep your lift sweet)
[3] don't ask .... I may post it with Megs permission
[4] brains being a Cardiff brewery...

Hmm... I have a picture of

- one of the animals being the mascot for the GPL (gnu)
- shooting it's horns which are made of rubber (nurf)
- and replenishing the ammo by teleporting new horns from a remote
storage (gating)

My head hurts.

Thanks, dp. I'm just too tired to do the job myself - more important things to
sort out atm.
I'm sure the official report will be along very soon.

You lost me on that one. Did we have any telephone or 'spirit' attendees?

Did we ever find out who had fallen asleep at the bottom of the stairs?

Ve Haff Pictures. Actually, there are a number of pictures and mpegs on my new
toy but, sadly, I didn't take any of the music session. When tuits of any shape
present themselves, I'll make them available.

> the day was filled with beer drinking from almost 12 am...

Well *you* might've, matey but every time I put mine down, I promptly forgot
where it was. Consequently, my weekend was mostly sober but I did get tiddly
enough to sing badly on Sunday evening.

And what a toy! Great fun for the kids [0] and no-one got wet. Until BIF ( 7
going on 40 with an angelic appearance and a mean, evil streak) got out the
super-soakers. Gideon also managed to bull^H persuade people to help with
putting up the gazebo [1] when the very light rain threatened to send us
indoors.

> Meg started the BBQ and cooked a wonderful spread. (/me will say my

Many thanks to all those who helped, brought goodies and reminded me to eat. I
really enjoyed doing that - it's surprising how quickly a queue can form when
the whisper goes around that they may be a sausage ready ;) Ooh that sounds
rude. Did I mention it was black?

My memory has is different with Adrian first, Jenny second and Sandriana third
BICBW. We also had a minor tussle over the entry submitted by Graham/Gid/ppint
who, between them, scored about ten more points than Adrian but It Was Decided
(tm) that multiple personalities had to be disqualified. Actually, that's a
shame because I have an inkling that Graham may very well have won with only his
own contribution.

I must, at this point, express my warmest thanks to our very own Cunning
Artificer Bernard Pearson for providing the main prizes for this quiz and for
the raffle. You guys really ought to get your hands on a "Street of Cunning
Artificers" street sign, a "IIIb" door plate, or a "Procrastinator" made by this
great craftsman. Or all three. Suzi won the street sign in the raffle
<buggerbuggermusttraveltowincantontogetanothergrin> so keep an eye out for it if
you attend the next gidunsuzi meet.

I can't remember. Which night was Rocky Horror Picture Show night?

And very nicely played too. That keyboard is great fun but not a patch on a
proper grand and Jonathan certainly made it sing - as did Rocky.

What next one? ;)

> [3] don't ask .... I may post it with Megs permission

You know the saying " she's such a bad cook, she could burn boiled eggs"? Well,
it's been said before and I've really done it before but Saturday I did it big
style by coming home to a kitchen decorated with ten exploded eggs. Fortunately,
my ppint in shining armour saved the pan and kept me out of the kitchen while
cleaning it all up.

Finally, to the lost and found section.

To whit:
One spiky hairbrush
One fluffy pillow
One snuggly sleeping bag
One practical corkscrew
One crumpled tee-shirt
One nifty camera
Two giggling balls - though these may've been left on purpose.

If anyone can lay claim to these, I'll happily send them along using whatever
resources I can muster. Please drop me line.

- "never sit with your back to the door" perhaps ? (though
i am uncertain how effective observance of this adage would
prove, when it came to unexpected spirit attendees...)

>Errors and Ommisions Excluded

- nope; i do not recall anyone being excluded, defenestrated
ejected, sent into earth orbit (geosynchronous or otherwise),
nor caused to depart upon an involuntary cometary; not even a
single 'arrier, 'orror, or 'error...

- and on the sideboard in the kitchen;

- and on the green plastic table, next to the barbecue (where
MEG spent absolutely *ages* seeing to the safe charring of all
meatstuffs (and veggiestuffs) for afpers' meals, and even to
the provision of seconds (& thirds for some), before she could
find time - be prevailed upon to find time - to eat);

- and on the table by the aquarium, in the kitchen;

- and in the library, by colonel mustard, with the lead piping...

- correction: to sing both clearly and tunefully, and at length
to the evident enjoyment of all listening, as well as those who
were taking part - until forced by your cigarette-struck throat,
to concentrate upon your guitar-playing). hope things quieten &
smooth out soon, so you can drop them again, and quickly.

- and a late addition to the quotefile:

bif: "i'm really *evil* !"
ppint: "and does it feel good ?"
bif: "_yes_ !"

- love, ppint.
