Well that's done for another year!

It's only a small rally (200 limit) but popular with both bikers and
locals. It's a bit odd having bikers wandering out to watch, and
support, the local cricket club and the locals wandering in to watch the
silly games but the atmosphere is great.

Moped jousting was considered too risky this year due to damp conditions
(major electrical storm) so, due to cries of "not fair" from prospective
entrants, piggyback jousting ensued (I kid you not). When someone puts
up the pictures I'll post a link - I couldn't make this up if I tried!
Probably safer (a bit) and highly entertaining. The lances are hardwood
but no pointy metal bits!

The first estimate, this morning, is at least £1K going to SERV
(Bloodrunners). It'll probably end up being closer to £1.5K.

Done my job, everyone else did theirs, good time had by all with only
the 1 broken wrist. And Sarah remembered to leave the teabag in the mug
when she made the SO (my chaufeusse for bulk transport) a cup of tea!

In time honoured tradition I forgot to pick up the transport rucksack
before leaving but everyone knows who it belongs to so I got it back
this morning.

Now I can relax and wait for my appointment with the Hepatology
Department at the hospital. Start planning the raffle prize scrounging
for next year.

Although I'm sill annoyed at the club for putting my name in the
programme as having been a major collector of raffle prizes over
<mumble> years without mentioning it to me. That's my reputation as a
hard-drinking rufty-tufty biker shot to hell!

At least the bastards spelt it correctly.

If you're going to ruin the rep of hard drinking bikers without a social
conscience, then you have to expect that your own rep will come under
attack.

I get most of the raffle prizes from pubs I drink in! How do you think I
got liver disease?

It's not cheap walking around all those pubs buying pints for 10 years!

<mutter>Spend 10 years drinking and raising money, trying to raise funds to
support your fellow man and how much thanks do you get?</mutter>

OTOH I've had a lot of fun (except Livingstone - don't go there) so WTH.

I do what I do when I choose to do it. Currently trying to avoid dying
until I've done things promised.

<shrug> I prefer the real thing, using horses and proper armor.

My wife is the head scorekeeper, and I'll be doing massages for the
competitors.
