IIRC Billy Conolly and Jasper Carrot (well, he had to really) have had
routines on this subject, dating back to the late '70's at least.

That may be a common concept, but I first encountered it in the Robin
Williams movie, _Toys_, where various multi-cultural versions of plastic
vomit are being considered. Which came first?

he wore a black body suit and those yellow banana wellies he used to do
a monologue about there always being diced carrots, Must be well over
ten years ago, think its on one of his LPs too

Is there a Swan in Ipswich? There's one in Needham Market (a few miles
away), but are there two so close?
Incidentally, if there is a Swan in Ipswich as well, that's a hell of a
cohencidence - I remember a very drunken discussion on the Swan in Needham,
about that very same topic[1]. IIRC, we eventually decided that there must
be some sort of "diced carrot appendix" in the human body, that simply
stores all the diced carrot ever eaten by a person, then returns it when
needed[2].
[1] Must be one of those parasitic stories...
[2] As a corroboration, one of my friends who's allergic to carrots told me
that he's never had any diced carrot come up when he's been pebble-dashing
the pavement. Maybe we're right....

Yes, there is A Swan in Ipswich - it's opposite the Corn Exchange.
There's another at Westerfield which is even closer than Needham.

The best pub in Ipswich is the Malt Kiln (on the dock front, near the
(old?)
customs and excise building), Swan's good, The Spread eagle is very
relaxing
..
Another nice place (i think) is the Black Tiles next round'bout from
BT..
