And this seems as good a place as any to mention the disturbing
similarity between the higher register of Alan Carr's laugh and
The Joker's.

I suppose this doesn't prove that Alan Carr /is/ The Joker, but also
_Alan Carr: Chatty Man_ appears to be broadcast from Carr's own
sitting-room, and "See Carr Room" is an anagram of "Cesar Romero",
which is known as one of Joker's aliases.

Another anagram of _Alan Carr: Chatty Man_ ought to expose his fiendish
plan (unless it's The Riddler I'm thinking of), but my Bat-Computer[*]
hasn't delivered a final answer. But it did offer "Anarchy Mantra Talc".
The implication being!... Actually, I have no idea, but if any of those
three things are in prospect then you're already in trouble.

It also produced "Charlatanry Act Man".

Then again, I suppose that _Alan Carr: Chatty Man_ on its own is probably
enough of a clue as to his intentions.

[*] Well, <http://www.wordsmith.org/anagram/index.html>

No, you're thinking of Meredith Newmar as Batwoman... or if not, do. :-)

<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Gorshin> reveals much.

<http://www.batmanytb.com/tv/60series/cast/thejoker.php> has a brief
and interesting account. Reading between the lines, if the shows
were directed with a light touch as far as the guests, the villains,
were concerned, I suppose it's because they'd hired experienced,
capable, imaginative performers, and just followed them around the
set with the camera while they expressed. Or maybe they didn't care.

I think the fight scenes must have been planned, though, or people
would be hurt.

This _Batman_ series is running on United Kingdom ITV-4 at the moment,
by the way. Alan Carr's show appears on Channel 4 and on whatever
they're calling the catch-up channel on Freeview 47, but not necessarily
when Radio Times magazine or even the TV's own EPG says. And maybe E4.

That's nothing. "Kate Middleton" is an anagram of "Naked Tit Model".

Frank Gorshin = the Riddler, Cesare Romero = the Joker, Burgess
Meredith = the Penguin, Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt both played
Catwoman.

Why do I still remember that?

'Pope Benedict' is an anagram of 'Epic Bent Pedo'

(or, of course, vice versa)

'Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan' is an anagram of 'My Ultimate Ayn Rand Porn'

(as above)

Because there is a part of the brain dedicated to The Classics. [I am
going to hypothesise you were around 11-15 when the show was out. Early
adolescent memories are the strongest.]
