Can I please apologise to any and all except Bratt for my post in the
thread above. I lost my temper (might be a bit tipsy).

Another of our animals died, small white pony called Juniper. Good
little mare, sweet disposition, unlike The Suzicat who wasn't any of the
above.

The Suzicat got buried to

Really, she was deeply loved despite being a female Greebo - got put in
the ground with due reverence with this tune playing. Seemed right
somehow.

now got to find a suitable tune for Juni.

The Suzicat just needed a shovel, Juni will need a JCB but we'll get
one.[1]

Anyone got suggestions for funeral music for a small white pony?

Warning: If anyone suggests "My Little Pony" from "Father Ted" I will
hunt them down. Wherever.

Problem with living longer than your animals is that you feel guilty
although I never worked out why. You just do.

Sponsor a Snow Leopard you buggers, only £3 a month FFS! It might
help. And we're running out of Snow Leopards.

Last Post / Last Taps is always appropriate, I thought.

I'm terribly sorry that Juniper had to leave. The bond between humans and
their animal companions is a special one.

The ride of the valks was just *right* for The Suzicat, I'll suggest
Last Taps for Juni. Thanks. She deserves it, bloody well earned it.
Lovely little lass who worked hard (Pony, for anyone not paying
attention - ponies are people too)

My family is military, or otherwise lunatic[1], has been for years.

I think it's either a genetic thing or just habit, or indoctrination.

What I do know is that I'd rather have the SO[2], the OD and my sister
behind me as backup than any SAS squad.

I kid you not. All got weapons training from experts (nice people in
the British Army)

[1]Uncle is a cricketer but we don't talk about that!

[2]SO is black belt in at least 2 martial arts and admitted that she's
handy with a rifle[3]. Forgot to mention any of that to me when I first
asked her out. I'd have run a mile (and probably got about 20 feet)!

[3]Yet to find out if she's as good as me with a rifle, question hasn't
arisen yet.

Juni was a good lass, we lost The Suzicat last month, animals die, for
some reason we seem to live a bit longer. Longer than the big cat that
I shot up there last year.

We all lose things that matter. I get horribly drunk on the anniversary
of a particular girlfriends death. If getting pissed is the only way I
can remember that I failed to save her then that's what I do. She's
still dead, I know - I was holding her hand when the monitor flatlined.

I've got a bloody good woman (some might say 'daft' and might be right)
now and if she's of a mind then we'll see what happens.

I'm so sorry. It's always difficult when a pet dies, almost enough to
stop you having more pets.

She wasn't a pet, she was a working pony trained for carriage driving. The
dogs are pets, because they're bloody useless for anything else, The
Suzicat was herself[1]. Juni was just a small pony who didn't like cold
water but would go through it.
