There's a U.K. AOL Hometown homepage called "Hellbilly FMX" that currently
has a (seemingly authentic) interview with U.K. bike rider Luke Smith.

...

Who's Luke Smith?

According to the interview, he's Glenn McMillan's stunt double on "Ninja
Storm"!

...

I know, I know. Big deal. But trust me -- read on and you won't be
disappointed.

--

* You have a MTB background! What got you to switch and get in to the
Freeride MX side of things?

I all ways wanted a MX bike when i was a kid but couldn't afford one so a
couple of years ago i saved up and got one, I just had to stop all of that
peddling shit I mean no MTB could beat being pinned 30ft in the air over a
100ft gap FMX rules.

* I have to ask because people will be thinking they heard your name before!
You've been linked with the Metal Mulisha! What was the deal?

The deal was nothing really I got a few t-shirts a cap and a hoody. It was
through bsxworld not the real deal. I was a fool really I got the cover of
dirt promoting the mulisha all for what? A t-shirt! Shit Deegan should send
me a cheque.

* Your out in New Zealand right now! What's it like compared to the UK? And
what prompted the switch?

I am loving NZ right now I have a set up at my girlfriends house, which is
set on 8 acres it rules. I have a ramp at 75ft and some other kickers, there
are so many places out here to ride there is just no limits, I mean where in
the UK would you be able to drive your truck along the beach, get to the
dunes, unload the bikes and go hit 120ft+ gaps. I moved out here because my
parents have been out here for the last 4 years now and I got burnt out on
the MTB scene and fed up of living like a poorper so I took my chances and
moved out.

* A lot of people in freestyle have 2 great passions. (Hookers are excluded)
Bikes and Music! What makes your CD collection and what really gets on your
nerves?

I like a lot of hip hop/r&b/rap stuff like dmx, j5, ludacris etc.

* Which riders do you follow and look up to?

I don't really follow anyone I try take the best off each rider's style and
the way they perform different tricks and put it into my own style. But the
people I look up to in the sport are guys like McElroy for his amazing style
and Metz for where he has taken the sport.

* A lot of riders are making their mark on the film and TV stage! What have
you done, and do you plan to do in the future!

I am currently working on the Power Rangers new TV show, which will be shown
in the UK next summer I think. I double one of the power rangers and do all
of the motorbike stunts when they turn up to a fight scene, and also in the
series when the guy is not a power ranger he is a MX racer and does a bit of
freestyle so I do all of the stuff for that. Filming runs for 8 months a
year for the next 6 years but fox productions are making a movie of it next
year so I will be doing that for sure. Also I have just finished filming for
a Playstation advert for the new game ATV off road fury 2, so I am flat out
filming. In the future I plan to do a lot more filming I will see what comes
up but I wanna see where I can go with freestyle, I suppose being a stuntman
is something to fall back onto.

* OK! You now get your chance to rant! Whatever really gets on your nerves
about the whole freestyle thing! Is it demo's, moaning rider's, promoters
out for the quick cash, the price of beer, anything!
Spill your guts!

Its tight arse promoters and sponsors that are out to make them self a buck
out of riders busting there butts. Like some sponsors think they can give
you a couple of stickers and a t-shirt and that's all they have to do and
expect you to promote them as much as possible and get in the mags etc
promote there product and they make a shit load of money because you are
going out there winning contests getting there name out there and they don't
give you fuck all in return, maybe some more free stickers, well fuck that
to all the kids out there that get offered a deal like that tell them to
poke it!! Its the same with event promoters they expect you to go out there
and put on a amazing show and throw down all the tricks and risk your life
for a pissing 200 pound something's wrong there it needs to be sorted out,
there are to many money grabbers in the industry it really fucks me off.
That's a big weight of my chest, ha ha.

One last one!!!!
What do you think of Hellbilly FMX UK?
And Kenny Bartram did know what it was! He was just foolin! Honest!

Its cool that you guys are out there helping to promote FMX in the UK and it
also helps people find out what's going on in the UK with events, riders
stuff like that, its a great website, you rule, the industry need more guys
like you.

So could another movie (feature-film, direct-to-video, TV-movie) actually be
in the works? Any thoughts?

O_O Next six years? Fox productions? Hmm, this info. sounds kinda fishy, but
this isn't the first time we've heard a movie brought up. I guess we'll have
to wait and see on this. But it would be nice if it were true.

The thought of another movie is intriguing, but is it normal for an
actor to not know what company he works for?

Well...he could just be confused. Power Rangers still airs on the UK version
of Fox Kids, right? If the block name wasn't changed...then yes, it could make
sense. If not...err...tomato.

Well, the six years could refer to Power Rangers in General, he could be
one of the new vehicle stunt guys.

The fox productions... that's an odd one.

The Movie. Well, Disney is footing the bill, they got some deep wallets
those mouse people.

That's Fox Kids Worldwide, I believe, a slightly different venture than
the now kaput Fox Kids Network in the U.S. Most likely, Power Rangers is
syndicated to FKUK for whatever reason--I'm betting it might have something
to do with the fact that FKUK has been airing reruns of Power Rangers in
alternate time slots for several years now, so perhaps they have contracts
which give them syndication rights to air the show, so BVE figures it's
better not to go to the trouble of creating a whole new timeslot or
whatever.
Anyway, getting back to your point, yes, you are most likely right.
Since PR still airs on Fox Kids Worldwide, I'd bet it's still on FK in NZ as
well. So maybe that's what tipped him. OR... or or OR (and this is MONDO
speculation here), perhaps BVE might still have Fox produce the next movie
if they make one (although Fox might know better considering how much money
was lost on MMPR:TM).

Or perhaps, 20th Century Fox? The company that did the last two movies?

Fox Kids UK have the rights to show the entire Saban library of shows as
well as Fox Family's.And they are the distributors for Power Rangers in
Europe. When they got their eps they got them from Fox Kids Worldwide. But now
any channel that gets PR in europe gets it from FKUK and any channel outside
Europe get it from BV (I think)

But why would Disney let them do the movie? Especially after how little
money they made.

Stupid question: is FKUK a separate network from Fox, or is it just a block
on Fox like it was in the US?

When Fox Kids UK first launched it was a joint partnership with FK Worldwide
and Sky.Sky sold thier share in Fox Kids and now it's soley owned by
Disney/BV.Although it's onair 24hrs a day the only show programmes at 6am -
10pm then they play a Fox Kids logo loop. Now that Fox Kids in the USA is no
more Fox Kids UK has had to get shows from independant distributors as
there's not a lot of shows now they're getting from Fox Family (ABC
Family).Thats why we've seen a lot of non Saban/Fox Kids/ABC Family
shows. And they rely now on shows from Nelvana,DiC.

Thanks Nutty (and everyone) for the FKUK clarification. Now it makes
more sense why he'd consider it a Fox show.
